Arkansas RB Dennis Johnson ran forty times in the 4.40 to 4.45 range at the school's pro day on Friday.
He also recorded a 6.96 three cone, 33-inch vertical, and 9' 11" broad jump. Johnson has been one of our favorite sleepers all season and it is amazing that he did not attend the Shrine Game, Senior Bowl, or NFL Combine. We think he can immediately contribute as a passing down back but needs to fix fumbling issues. Fri, Mar 15, 2013 03:37:00 PM

Arkansas senior RB Dennis Johnson rushed for 30 yards on six carries, along with 48 receiving yards on five catches, Friday against LSU.

Johnson nearly helped the Razorbacks score early in the first quarter but fumbled while fighting for extra yardage. This has been the senior's biggest issue throughout his career, and nothing will get him benched faster int he NFL than turning the ball over. However, we think Johnson is the best passing down running back prospect in this class.

Arkansas senior RB Dennis Johnson rushed for 109 yards and two touchdowns on 22 carries and added 43 yards on three receptions Saturday against Tulsa.

Johnson is going to contribute in the NFL immediately due to his third down ability. The senior's combination of choppy steps and balanced base is great and allows him to bounce off arm tackles. Johnson should be an early third day selection, at worst.

Arkansas senior RB Dennis Johnson produced 161 yards and one touchdown on 27 carries Saturday against Ole Miss.

Johnson added 19 yards on three catches. The senior only had a long run of 21 yards, but this shows his consistency all game. We have considered Johnson the best third down back in the country, a role he should immediately play in the NFL, but he is much more than that.

Arkansas senior RB Dennis Johnson scored three touchdowns Saturday on 13 touches against Kentucky.

Head coach John L. Smith said that junior Knile Davis would see more snaps this week compared to the four carries he received last week, and the two actually finished with the same number of touches. However, Johnson did more with his opportunities, picking up 82 yards and two touchdowns on the ground with a 6.8 yards per carry average. He also added a receiving touchdown.

Arkansas senior RB Dennis Johnson rushed for 76 yards on 17 carries, including two touchdowns, in Saturday's win over Auburn.

Johnson also added four receptions for 15 yards. He finally unseated junior Knile Davis as the team's top back, it certainly took the Razorbacks coaches long enough. Johnson did fumble another carry in the game, which has been his kryptonite throughout his career. We still consider him the top third down back in the country.

Along with his kick return duties, Arkansas senior backup RB Dennis Johnson has been named the Razorbacks punt returner.

Johnson is obviously taking over for the departed Joe Adams, who returned five punts in his career for touchdowns. "I think Dennis has a feel where people are," special teams coordinator Steve Caldwell said. "He has got that breakaway that once he sees the gap he can hit it." Receiver Marquel Wade was also under consideration for the job until he was dismissed form the program. In a recent article, we stated that we believe Johnson is the best third down back in the country, and this kind of versatility will only add to Johnson's evaluation.

Arkansas’ Dennis Johnson ran for a career-high 160 yards in helping the Hogs overcome a 17-point deficit and beat Ole Miss, 29-24.

Johnson’s big day could not have come at a better time. His 52-yard touchdown run with 5:11 remaining in the first half put the Razorbacks on the board and, at 17-7, gave them some much needed life. He continued to pound away and finished 15-160.

After suffering a bowel injury, Arkansas running back Dennis Johnson looked like he would miss around 4-6 weeks, but now it appears he may not return this season.  Head coach Bobby Petrino says he's "not optimistic about him returning. I’ll just put it that way."

The Hog backfield is still loaded with Broderick Green, Ronnie Wingo, and Knile Davis but Johnson's loss will be felt in the return game.

Arkansas running back and kick returner Dennis Johnson will miss this week's game against Georgia with what head coach Bobby Petrino calls a "bowel injury".

I cannot wrap my mind around what constitutes a "bowel injury" but Johnson has not been much of a fantasy factor this far.

Arkansas running back Dennis Johnson will miss the team's game at Georgia on Saturday with a "bowel injury."

Hopefully Johnson's injury isn't as bad as it sounds.

Arkansas sophomore speedster Dennis Johnson opens spring camp as the number one back while presumed starter Michael Smith rehabs his hamstring.

Johnson ran for over 100 yards last year against LSU, and according to Nate Allen of the Baxter Bulletin, the youngster ran a 4.3 40-yard dash this off season. This is the type of speed Satchel Paige was talking about when he said Cool Papa Bell "could turn off the lights and get in bed before the room went dark." At worst Johnson spells Michael Smith and breaks a few big ones in 2009. If Smith struggles with injuries then we could really have something.
