Clemson already has Tajh Boyd at quarterback but could end up getting Mississippi transfer Nathan Stanley as well.  Stanley transferred from Ole Miss and has been said to be looking at Clemson as well as a few FCS schools.
Stanley was constantly being leapfrogged on the depth chart in Oxford and while the offense would be one in which he could do some damage, he would certainly needs to usurp Boyd at Clemson if he is going to see any more playing time than as a Rebel. Tue, May 24, 2011 03:21:00 AM

It appears Nathan Stanley has seen the writing on the wall in Oxford and has decided to transfer from Ole Miss.  Last year Stanley was the next starting quarterback for the Rebels but then lost his job to Oregon transfer Jeremiah Masoli.  This year he was entrenched in a position battle with Zack Stoudt, Randall Mackey, and Barry Brunetti and with Mackey being the favorite to win, has decided to head elsewhere.

Best of luck to Mr. Stanley as he looks to start somewhere.

As noted earlier today, Mississippi coach Houston Nutt said he will narrow the quarterback race down to two on Tuesday.  However there are signs that he's leaning toward starting Nathan Stanley.  "I feel real confident about putting him (Stanley) in a game," Nutt said.

Not a big surprise as Jeremiah Masoli has only had an Ole Miss playbook in his hands for a couple of weeks now.  But you can count on Masoli seeing plenty of snaps this fall.

Nathan Stanley is the leader to start at quarterback for Ole Miss as they begin spring camp on Saturday.  But he'll be pushed by Raymond Cotton.

Cotton was one of the most impressive recruits on film in 2009, and we would not be shocked at all if he ends up winning the starting job.
