It appears Nathan Stanley has seen the writing on the wall in Oxford and has decided to transfer from Ole Miss. Last year Stanley was the next starting quarterback for the Rebels but then lost his job to Oregon transfer Jeremiah Masoli. This year he was entrenched in a position battle with Zack Stoudt, Randall Mackey, and Barry Brunetti and with Mackey being the favorite to win, has decided to head elsewhere.
As noted earlier today, Mississippi coach Houston Nutt said he will narrow the quarterback race down to two on Tuesday. However there are signs that he's leaning toward starting Nathan Stanley. "I feel real confident about putting him (Stanley) in a game," Nutt said.
Nathan Stanley is the leader to start at quarterback for Ole Miss as they begin spring camp on Saturday. But he'll be pushed by Raymond Cotton.
