Michigan State redshirt senior RB Nick Hill "shouldn't be dismissed as a viable NFL prospect," writes CBS Sports' Dane Brugler.
Hill has been overshadowed in his career by more talented backs Le'Veon Bell and Jeremy Langford, but he's got potential NFL chops. "[Hill] could turn some heads when he gets his carries," Brugler wrote. "Hill doesn't look like much, but his athleticism grabs your attention and it wouldn't surprise me if NFL scouts leave East Lansing with high marks and possibly draftable grades on him." The 5-foot-8, 198-pound fifth-year senior runs a swift 4.40 forty. Jul 30 - 5:16 PM

Michigan State redshirt junior RB Nick Hill recently underwent sports hernia surgery.

He is not expected to miss any time this summer. Hill is expected to compete for the top running back spot in place of the departed Le'Veon bell, who carried a monstrous workload during his time at Michigan State.

In an effort to take advantage of the skill level of Nick Hill, Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio tabs the redshirt freshman as his top kick returner.

A heralded all-purpose back, Hill was an injury redshirt last season after appearing in the opener. In this season’s opener, he had only one carry and returned two kicks, one for 29 yards. With a crowded backfield and not enough carries to go around, Dantonio wants to see more of Hill with the kick-return unit Saturday against Florida Atlantic.
