Kentucky redshirt sophomore RB Josh Clemons will miss the 2013 season with an Achilles injury.
Clemons sustained the injury during offseason activities. The 5-10, 212-pounder rushed for 279 yards in 2011, but sustained a knee injury in October and hasn't stepped foot on the gridiron since. The snake-bitten rusher will probably try to give it another go next summer. Mon, Jul 15, 2013 03:20:00 PM

Freshman RB Josh Clemons is once again listed as the starter for this week's matchup at LSU.

"He practiced all day," coach Joker Phillips said. "He made it through the practice and he will be ready to go...It won’t be full speed but three-quarter speed. He should make it to the game. He is healthy enough and from what I saw today, he will be the starter." Clemons moved to the starting lineup for the last two games when sophomore RB Raymond Sanders suffered an apparent knee injury against Central Michigan. The Wildcats have not moved the ball well, but Clemons has been the lone bright on offense this season, where the team ranks seventh in the SEC in rushing.

With Raymond Sanders out for 2-3 weeks, Kentucky freshman Josh Clemons will start at running back against Louisville and he may assume kick-return duties.

Clemons is a freshman who had 126 yards rushing against Central Michigan last week, many of which were accumulated after Sanders left with a knee injury. Sanders, the Wildcats’ leading returning rusher, was the starting RB and also returned kicks. Clemons, son of former NFLer Charlie and cousin of current NFLer Chris, not only slides into the starting role in the backfield, but may also contribute on the kick-return unit.
