A redshirt sophomore, Miller became the first Miami running back to reach 1,000 yards since 2002 when he hit that plateau Nov. 5 against Duke. He finished the season with 1,272 yards (5.6 ypc) and 9 TDs. He ran for 646 yards last season. Mon, Dec 12, 2011 04:58:00 PM

After being held to 29 yards last week against North Carolina, Miami RB Lamar Miller wants to rebound with a big day against Georgia Tech.

Miller rattled off five straight 100-yard efforts to start the season before he was stuck in his tracks with 16-29 against the Tar Heels. He looks to rebound Saturday against a Yellow Jacket rush defense that is allowing 177 yards per game to rank 81st.

Miami running back Lamar Miller looks to continue his string of big plays this week against Virginia Tech.

Miller is the only player in college football to have a run of at least 41 yards in every game this year. He trails VT's David Wilson by only one-tenth of a yard as the ACC's leader in YPG. Miller's outlook got a boost when it was announced that Tech lost its starting DT Antoine Hopkins to an ACL injury this week. Averaging 6.7 yards per carry, look for Miller to continue to break off big plays this week.

Hurricanes RB Lamar Miller posted his second consecutive 100 yard game Saturday as Miami upset Ohio State in the "Battle of Improper Benefits."

Miller looked as good as advertised, rushing for 184 yards on 26 attempts (7.1 yards per carry). After a breakout second half last season, the redshirt sophomore appears to have turned the corner as one of the premier talents in college football. The win officially ends Miami's four game losing streak, dating back to 2010.
