Utah head coach Kyle Whittingham announced that senior QB Jordan Wynn is "done playing football at the university."
Wynn left last week's game versus Utah in the second half after injuring his shoulder. The senior started a lot of games for the school during his career, but apparently after talking with his father Wynn is ready to walk away from the sport. Utah senior QB Jordan Wynn is out for the second half versus Utah State after injuring his shoulder.

The injury occurred in the second quarter and the Utes decided to rotate senior Jon Hayes and freshman Travis Wilson for the rest of the first half. He was 6-for-11 for 47 yards at the time, but had also been sacked three times. No updates were given on the extent of the injury.

Despite some confusion in recent weeks, Utah head coach Kyle Whittingham emphasized that senior Jordan Wynn is the Utes' starting QB.

"Jordan is our starter," said Whittingham. "But in this program, everyday is a competition. Nobody's job is etched in stone." He went on to say that Wynn looked better than ever in spring practice and that the talent surrounding him at the position has increased as well. The senior only played in 4 games last season after sustaining a shoulder injury that required surgery but has thrown for 31 touchdowns compared to 16 interceptions in his career.

Utah quarterback Jordan Wynn is bulked up and feeling confident after his 2011 season was cut short due to shoulder surgery.

It might seem like a modest goal, but making it though a season uninjured is something Wynn has yet to do with the Utes. To help achieve that, the starting QB added some upper-body muscle and with that, hopefully some durability. Wynn, who will be a senior next season, has thrown for 4,390 yards and 31 touchdowns with 16 INTs in three years with Utah.

Utah quarterback Jordan Wynn will miss the rest of the season after undergoing left shoulder surgery.

It is Wynn's non-thorwing shoulder, which also went under the knife in December. He never felt fully comfortable. Wynn finishes the year 66-of-116 for 727 yards and 6/2. Jon Hays will be No. 1 for the remainder of the season. Hays threw for 199 yards and a TD against Arizona State last week.

Utah quarterback Jordan Wynn will miss 2-3 weeks with an injured non-throwing shoulder.

With Wynn injured just before halftime against Washington last week, coach Kyle Whittingham turned to junior Jon Hays. The JC transfer threw for 156 yards in relief of Wynn, who is proving to be rather fragile. The junior missed two regular-season games last season with a thumb injury and missed the Utes' bowl game with a banged up throwing shoulder.
