Broncos signed North Carolina QB Bryn Renner.
Renner (6-foot-2 5/8, 228) made 32 career starts for the Tar Heels, compiling an 18-14 record, 64:25 TD-to-INT ratio and 66.5 completion rate. Compared to T.J. Yates by NFL Films' Greg Cosell, Renner is a smallish passer with small hands (9 1/8) and lacks NFL-caliber velocity. He's probably not as good a prospect as Yates was coming out of UNC, and Yates may be out of the league in a year or two. Renner projects as a baseball cap-donning No. 3 NFL quarterback. NFL Network's Mike Mayock believes UNC QB Bryn Renner is still draftable despite an injury riddled senior season.

Renner tore the labrum in his left shoulder and also suffered a fractured scapula, which prevented him from attending the Senior Bowl or East-West Shrine game. Renner ran his own pro day workout on Tuesday, which is very uncommon. The UNC passer earned praise and buzz prior to the season and displayed the ability to slow down the game after the ball is snapped despite playing in a tempo offense.

Details have emerged regarding UNC senior QB Bryn Renner's injured left shoulder, including a torn labrum and fractured scapula.

Renner will have surgery this week. The senior had previously dislocated his left shoulder in high school, but this injury is a bit more serious. He will likely miss all or most of the pre-draft process, similar to Sean Renfree's situation last year.

UNC senior QB Bryn Renner's season and collegiate career are over after sustaining a left shoulder injury against NC State that will require surgery.

This is his non-throwing shoulder, but obviously it is a substantial injury. Renner told reporters he had dislocated the shoulder in high school as well. "According to team sources, further tests following the game revealed more significant damage to the shoulder," Inside Carolina's Dijana Kunovac writes. This ends a disappointing final season for Renner.

UNC senior QB Bryn Renner "popped out" his shoulder in the school's win over NC State.

Renner was not available during his normal media hours on Monday. The senior did not play the entire game, with sophomore Marquise Williams seeing action against the Wolfpack. It has been a down year for the veteran quarterback. He looks rattled much more frequently this season.

UNC senior QB Bryn Renner completed 27-of-35 attempts for 297 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Thursday's 27-23 loss to Miami.

Renner was returning to the starting lineup after missing Saturday's game against Virginia Tech with a left foot injury. He was spectacular on Thursday, displaying no rust in his best start of the season. The performance kept North Carolina (1-5) in the game until a last-second Hail Mary was dropped by Quinshad Davis in the end zone.

UNC senior QB Bryn Renner will "definitely" start against Miami on Thursday, according to head coach Larry Fedora.

Renner suffered the left foot injury against ECU and sat out against Virginia Tech. The usually efficient Renner has completed less than 60 percent of his passes while throwing seven touchdowns compared to three interceptions. He has looked less poised in the pocket this season.

UNC offensive coordinator Blake Anderson said that he's "comfortable" that senior QB Bryn Renner will be ready to start on Thursday against Miami.

North Carolina is on a bye week and it sounds as though Renner would have had to sit out the contest if it were played on Saturday. Fortunately, he'll have longer to rest the ankle injury he sustained in a Sept. 28 loss to East Carolina; Renner didn't play against Virgina Tech last week. "The days off helped. It's what I need to get back," Renner said. "Still not 100 percent but with this 10-day, 11-day layoff… it's going to be good for (me)." Said Anderson: "Is he or is he not 100 percent? Can he move from the pocket, can he protect himself, can he be effective?"

Despite being announced as a starter, UNC senior QB Bryn Renner is not playing against Virginia Tech.

Renner is dealing with a left foot injury. Sophomore Marquise Williams is starting in his place. Head coach Larry Fedora was very quiet on the situation this week, but it isn't like Renner has been great this season.

UNC senior Bryn Renner's left foot injury is "a concern," but head coach Larry Fedora believes the QB will play.

Renner has been seen in a walking boot this week. No one knows the severity of the injury, or even how it happened, but the most important note is that Fedora is confident the veteran passer will play. "Yeah, it’s going to be a concern," Fedora said. "I think he’ll be fine, but he got (banged) up pretty good. He got hit a couple of times but he made it through. And he’s a little sore right now"

UNC senior QB Bryn Renner completed 28 of 46 attempts for 366 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception in a 55-31 loss to ECU.

Renner looked disheveled against South Carolina and Georgia Tech earlier in the season, something we aren't accustomed to seeing from the typically composed passer. He has thrown seven touchdowns compared to two interceptions this season.

UNC senior QB Bryn Renner completed 14 of 29 passes for 218 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception in a 28-20 loss to Georgia Tech.

Renner just looks different than he did last year, and we can;t put our finger on why. His patience has dipped and Renner's placement seems a bit more erratic. Hopefully that ability to slow the game down when the ball is snapped, while keeping tempo between plays, returns.

UNC senior QB Bryn Renner completed 23 of 34 attempts for 339 yards, one touchdown, and one interception against Middle Tennessee.

Renner struggled against South Carolina last week as he appeared to be worried with his reads and timings. We like his ability to slow down the action once the ball is snapped, but keep the tempo between each play. The Tar Heels face Georgia Tech in their next game.

UNC senior QB Bryn Renner's completion percentage jumped from 52 to 75 when South Carolina junior DE Jadeveon Clowney was not on the field.

This figure comes straight from ESPN stats and information. It was obvious from the first snap that Clowney impacted the Tar Heels' offensive success, forcing screens, draws, and quick passes to the opposite side of the field. Renner looked much more rattled than normal. He might not have shown up on the stat sheet, but Clowney made a difference. He should change his sack numbers this weekend against Georgia.

Scouts Inc.'s Kevin Weidl considers UNC senior QB Bryan Renner a developmental prospect at this point.

Weidl adds Renner carries a third day grade. "Renner was a bit underwhelming last Thursday," the evaluator writes. "From a physical standpoint he had a bigger frame than I anticipated and the ball came off his hand clean. However, his arm strength is a notch below McCarron’s and he struggled to get adequate zip on throws from the opposite hash. Renner also lacks ideal athleticism and had trouble evading pressure from the Gamecocks’ front seven throughout the night." We thought UNC altered their gameplan too much against South Carolina, leading to issues that didn't occur last season.
