Texas sophomore RB Malcolm Brown will miss Saturday's game against Baylor.

Brown is suffering from an ankle sprain and this will be his third straight game missed. The Longhorns have been able to move the ball down the field, and Joe Bergeron and Johnathan Gray will carry the ground game.

Texas sophomore RB Malcolm Brown will miss this Saturday's game with West Virginia due to an ankle sprain suffered in last weekend's game against Oklahoma State.

The Longhorns are fairly deep at running back since they will be able to still field Joe Bergeron and Johnathan Gray, but Brown was the team's second leading rusher with 245 yards on 40 carries, including three touchdowns.

Texas running back Malcolm Brown (turf toe) has played the last two weeks, but was largely ineffective against Kansas State and Texas A&M. Coach Mack Brown said he is close to healthy.

Brown, who was having a splendid freshman season before his injury kept him out of two games, is only 28-72-0 in two games (Kansas State and Texas A&M) since returning. Prior to the injury, Brown had 635 yards, including three 100-yard efforts, in seven games.

Freshman running back Malcolm Brown rushed 28 times for 119 yards and 2 touchdowns in Texas' win over Kansas.

Texas was able to run all day against the Jayhawks, totaling 441 yards on the ground. Brown got the bulk of the carries, though Joe Bergeron and Fozzy Whittaker also added substantially to the ground attack. Brown had the most carries of his young career and did not disappoint, posting his second straight 100-yard, 2-touchdown game for the Longhorns .

Texas coach Mack Brown intends to give the Sooners a dose of freshman running back Malcolm Brown.

The heralded freshman has had a nice season rushing for 327 yards at a 4.9 clip. His high-water mark was 22-110 and his first and only career TD to date against UCLA three weeks ago. Mack Brown would love nothing more than to consistently run the football against the Sooners, who rank 50th in rush defense. Brown will likely share in any success at accomplishing that.
