Patriots selected Rutgers CB Logan Ryan with the No. 83 overall pick.
Ryan (5-11, 191) made 26 starts as a Scarlet Knight, logging 11.5 tackles for loss, seven interceptions, and two forced fumbles. Despite the solid stats, Ryan struggled with discipline and technique in the Big East, getting beat deep all too often. He ran 4.56 at the Combine with a sub-par 32.5-inch vertical. Ryan displays short-area quicks and physicality, so perhaps he'll land on his feet as a slot corner in Foxboro with special teams value. The Patriots' current slot cornerback is Kyle Arrington. Nate Ulrich of Ohio.com reports Rutgers CB Logan Ryan privately worked out for the Cleveland Browns.

Ryan struggled with his technique at Rutgers, getting beat in coverage numerous times. He also showed a lack of speed, which was confirmed at the combine when he ran a 4.56. However, he's a typical Rutgers defender: tough and hard working. He has potential to become a solid starter, provided he gets quality coaching. He could be an option for the Browns in the third round.

Rutgers CB Logan Ryan is being considered as a second- to third-round selection by scouts, according to Tony Pauline.

Pauline goes on to note that there are concerns surrounding Ryan's speed, which is expected to be in the "4.5-area". However, he is expected to be one of the fastest in the shuttle. Overall, Ryan has a lot of room for improvement, notably in his technique and discipline.

Rutgers CB Logan Ryan was "burned" 41 times in 2012 by the opposing receiver, according to STATS.

This accounts for 42.7 percent of the total targets he faced. The percentage lands Ryan in the middle of the five player study, which included Xavier Rhodes (40.8), Dee Milliner (42.6), Desmond Trufant (44.2), and Johnthan Banks (50), although Ryan's total was much higher (15) than any other cornerback listed, likely due to the higher number of targets he faced.

Scouts Inc.'s Kevin Weidl said "you'll be hard pressed to find a CB more active in run support in this years' class than Rutgers' Logan Ryan."

Ryan's ability to drive on edge runs and make a play near the line of scrimmage is one of his best attributes. However, he occasionally struggles to flip his hips with good timing in off coverage. Ryan will likely be a second day pick.

Rutgers' junior CB Logan Ryan announced that will declare for the NFL Draft.

Ryan is a physical man corner who does not mind disrupting targets at the catch point. Add in that the junior is not afraid to close aggressively on the edge and Ryan is a likely top-64 selection.

Rutgers’ CB Logan Ryan had 2 interceptions and the Scarlet Knights’ defense improved its nation’s-best takeaway total to 22 in a 34-10 win over visiting Pitt.

Ryan was a star within a cast of stars on the Rutgers defense Saturday in New Jersey. When the game was already decided, Ryan took his second pick of the day 45 yards for a score. But when the game was in doubt, Logan had a pick and broke up a pass. Rutgers, which had four interceptions, leads the nation with 22 takeaways and improved its per game turnover margin to plus-2.80, which also leads the nation.
