Former Northwestern redshirt senior RB Venric Mark transferred to Division-II West Texas A&M.
Mark chose WTAMU over Northwest Missouri State and an opportunity to walk on at Texas Tech. He also considered Baylor, Texas State, Houston, Texas Tech, Oklahoma State, SMU and Kansas. With so many big programs interested, why did Mark choose to go the small-school route? "I couldn’t gamble with my last year with no guarantees," Mark told ESPN's Joe Schad. Mark would’ve been required to file an appeal for an immediate eligibility waiver if he chose an FBS school, because he’s one class short of graduating. Mark led the Wildcats in rushing with 1,366 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2012, but played in only three games last year due to injury. Aug 23 - 3:50 PM
