BYU junior WR Cody Hoffman announced that he will return for his senior season.
This isn't much of a surprise, but Cougars outside linebacker Kyle Van Noy's decision should be coming next. We doubt Hoffman's numbers would have shocked anyone since he wins with smooth routes and body control. But, at the same time, we doubt he shows much more than he already has during the 2013 season. BYU junior WR Cody Hoffman caught 10 passes for 114 yards against San Diego State Thursday night.

Hoffman, a junior prospect considering a jump to the NFL, showed off his smooth style downfield to create separation against the Aztecs. He won't flash in workouts, but Hoffman is long and utilizes solid routes with good body control to make an impact in the passing game.

BYU junior WR Cody Hoffman is "seriously entertaining thoughts of leaving for the NFL," according to SI's Tony Pauline.

Hoffman is a consistent target that creates separation with technique in his routes. We doubt he will flash in workouts, but Hoffman could be a late second day, early third day selection if he indeed does leave BYU after his redshirt junior season.

BYU junior WR Cody Hoffman will be ready to play in the Cougars' game against Weber State Saturday.

Hoffman hobbled off the field with an apparent quad contusion during Thursday's game against Washington State, but has been practicing ever since. "He will be great by Saturday. ...It hurts mostly when he kind of slows down right now. But I think he will be fine by Saturday," head coach Bronco Mendenhall said. The junior made three catches for 46 yards in the opener.

ESPN's K.C. Joyner deemed BYU junior WR Cody Hoffman a "master of the route tree".

Joyner recalls Hoffman's bowl game performance against Tulsa where he consistently created separation underneath and downfield, specifically on broken plays when senior quarterback Riley Nelson left the pocket. So many college receiver prospects are height, weight, speed athletes that need to be groomed to the position once reaching the NFL, so this is high praise from Joyner and should set Hoffman apart. The Cougar finished last season with 61 receptions for 943 yards and ten touchdowns.

Cody Hoffman's third touchdown catch of the day with 11 seconds remaining lifted BYU to a 24-21 verdict over Tulsa in the Armed Forces Bowl.

The 2-yard TD catch with 11 seconds remaining capped a bowl game in which Hoffman caught 8 passes for 122 yards with the 3 TDs. It was the fifth time this season the sophomore had a 100-yard game and the trio of TD catches gave him 10.

Wide Receiver Cody Hoffman had a career day Saturday, racking up 162 yards and one touchdown.

Hoffman had 19 catches on the season coming into the day, but his 9 catch explosion leaves Cougar fans hopeful for more days like that to come. Hoffman has shown he is capable of having a big day as he had an 8 reception, 138-yard game earlier this season against Utah.
