Arkansas State's Ryan Aplin threw for 353 yards and one TD, but was picked three times in a 38-20 Bowl loss to Northern Illinois.

Aplin had 30 completions on a career-high 58 attempts. He finished his junior year with 3,588 yards and 19 touchdowns with 16 interceptions. Aplin, who had 588 yards rushing, placed tenth in the country with an average of 358 total yards per game.

Arkansas State quarterback Ryan Aplin had a season-low 147 yards passing, but a season-high 164 yards rushing in the Red Wolves’ 34-16 win over FIU on Tuesday night.

Aplin had 177 yards rushing and one TD through the first six games before going 21-164-2 Tuesday night. His passing total of 147 yards was not only a season low, it also marked the first time this year he threw for less than 200 yards. His season-low (126) in 2010 was also against FIU. Aplin gets his share of yards and now has more than 2,100 total yards this year and, in 2010, set school records for total yards (3,416) and yards passing (2,939).
