Rams traded up to select Vanderbilt RB Zac Stacy with the No. 160 overall pick.
Stacy (5-foot-8 3/8, 216) spent two seasons as the Commodores' feature back, rushing 408 times for 2,334 yards (5.72 YPC) and 24 touchdowns. He caught 46 career passes. Stacy ran 4.55 at the Combine with a 1.59 ten-yard split. A poised, balanced, decisive runner, Stacy lacks explosive burst and top-end talent, but we loved how he frequently beat first contact in the SEC. He runs with forward lean and appears comfortable in blitz pickup. With only Isaiah Pead, Daryl Richardson and Terrance Ganaway in front of him, Stacy is a name to keep an eye on. Vanderbilt RB Zac Stacy tweeted that he visited the Tennessee Titans.

Stacy said the Titans have a "very good staff & organization". The team is looking to add another back to their backfield rotation despite signing former Jets running back Shonn Greene in free agency. Stacy is considered a third-day selection by many but possesses the skill set to make an impact at the next level. He's small but runs tough and falls forward upon contact.

Scouts Inc.'s Todd McShay is "really impressed" with Vanderbilt RB Zac Stacy's run instincts.

McShay commented on how Stacy turns many negative runs into two or three yard gains due to consistently beating first contact. It is the trait we like most about Stacy, just in front of his space eating cuts and the way he finishes runs. There's some third down ability too.

Vanderbilt RB Zac Stacy is scheduled to visit the Titans on Monday.

The Titans just added a running back in free agency in Shonn Greene, but we like Stacy as an early third day prospect who consistently beats first contact. He isn't overly flash, but if given a chance Stacy can produce.

Vanderbilt senior RB Zac Stacy rushed for 107 yards and one touchdown on 25 carries against NC State.

Stacy seemed to hurt his leg in the fourth quarter but returned to close out the game. The box score may show his longest run going for just 17 yards, but Stacy consistently displayed patience, vision, and tackle breaking ability. As a mid- to late-round choice, we think Stacy can contribute immediately due to his decisive running.

Vanderbilt senior RB Zac Stacy returned to practice on Wednesday.

Stacy left last weekend's game with a leg or knee injury, but is considered probable to play Saturday against Tennessee. With his tough running style, Stacy has been a consistent focal point of the Commodores offense.

Vanderbilt head coach James Franklin explained that their opponent on Saturday, the Florida Gators, tend to overload the box defensively and force opposing offenses to beat their man coverage on the outside.

"They take any numbers away that you might have in the box for running," Franklin said. "And then they take away all the easy, gimme throws with soft coverage on the outside and press you." The goal in this kind of defensive scheme is to allow your front seven players one on one matchups, putting them in the best position to wreak havoc. Talent-wise, the Gators defense far exceeds the Commodores offense.

Zac Stacy ran for 184 yards and 3 TDs in a 41-7 win at Wake Forest.

Vandy became bowl eligible and is on its way to a postseason game for only the second time (2008) since 1982. Stacy is a big reason why. His fifth 100-yard game of the season put him over 1,000 yards and it was the third time – all in the season’s second half – that he scored 3 touchdowns.

Vanderbilt’s Zac Stacy is having a memorable season while continuing special relationship with his brother.

Stacy, who is averaging 6.5 yards per tote and has four 100-yard games, needs 109 yards to become the first Vandy RB since 1995 to reach 1,000. All that is wonderful, but pales to the All-American family man he is.
