Kentucky head coach Mark Stoops announced that senior RB Raymond Sanders has been suspended for Saturday's game versus Tennessee due to a violation of team rules.
"He's not kicked off the team or anything like that. He just can't play in this game," Stoops said. The Wildcats coach labeled the situation "very disappointing," without specifically addressing what rule Sanders broke. "I've sat in here and bragged on him throughout the year," Stoops said. "That doesn't change my opinion of Raymond. I think he's a good person. I am disappointed in a few decisions that he made, but he's a good person." Freshman Jo Jo Kemp is expected to start against the Volunteers. Tue, Nov 26, 2013 04:26:00 PM

Kentucky senior running back Raymond Sanders toted the rock 15 times for 86 rushing yards in Thursday's loss to Mississippi State.

Sanders was amongst the crew that helped the 'Cats push 'Dogs to the limit; unfortunately, Kentucky dropped the decision and fell to 1-6. Sanders probably won't be drafted, but expect him to compete for a roster spot in an NFL camp next summer. He's a smallish scatback with great versatility. Sanders is a decent receiver out of the backfield and has experience as a returner.

Kentucky running back Raymond Sanders is unlikely to play against Mississippi State this weekend after suffering a high-ankle sprain in Saturday's win over Jacksonville State.

"It's a high ankle sprain, it's just not one of those that they think he will be out four or five weeks," Kentucky's Joker Phillips said. "But it's definitely iffy for this coming week. We'll have to see as days go by whether or not he can play this week, but it doesn't look good." Junior RB CoShik Williams performed well in his absence, but the Wildcats will need much more production from the running game if they hope to beat Mississippi State. Williams is coming off a career-high 148 yards on 22 carries.
