LSU head coach Les Miles did not offer a timetable for starting junior RB Alfred Blue's return from a knee injury suffered against Idaho.
"I'm not overly optimistic," Miles said when asked about Blue's injury. "I think he's going to come back, but I don't know the length of time." After that answer, Miles was asked specifically if Blue could miss the remainder of the season, and responded with he "might." The Tigers will continue to use a committee approach at the position, so sophomore Kenny Hilliard and juniors Michael Ford and Spencer Ware will continue to split reps. Fri, Sep 28, 2012 09:49:00 AM

LSU starting junior RB Alfred Blue suffered a knee injury against Idaho that will keep him out during this weekend's matchup with Auburn and likely several more weeks after that.

The injury is likely an MCL or ACL strain, which takes four to five weeks of recovery. Blue started the season by eclipsing the 100 yard mark in two games and was averaging 6.8 yards per carry along with two touchdowns. The Tigers use a committee approach at the running back position, so sophomore Kenny Hilliard and juniors Michael Ford and Spencer Ware will continue to split reps.
