Has it ever. Brown got into then-new coach Steve Addazio’s dog house last spring when he was suspended and left to ponder his fate. Brown turned the tables, returned to the team and enjoyed a junior season in which he was 30th nationally in all-purpose yards with an average of 139 per game. The 5-foot-5 Brown ran for 916 yards (5.9 ypc) while teaming with Bernard Pierce to give the Owls a formidable one-two punch in the backfield. Matt Brown ran for 133 yards and 2 touchdowns on only 8 carries in Temple’s 42-14 win over visiting Army.

With Bernard Pierce rushing for 157 yards, Saturday marked the fourth time this season Brown and Pierce ran for 100 yards in the same game. Brown topped 800 yards for the season and he is averaging more than six yards per carry. Temple amassed 335 yards on the ground.
