LSU cornerback Morris Claiborne will skip his senior season and enter the NFL draft.
There are plenty of secondaries that need help at the critical corner spots and Claiborne will likely be among those chosen in the first round. He joined teammate Tyrann Mathieu as a First-Team All-American and finished the season with six interceptions, including one he returned for a touchdown. Like former Tiger DB Patrick Peterson and Mathieu, Claiborne can make things happen on special teams. He averaged 25.0 yards per kick return with one TD. Fri, Jan 13, 2012 10:25:00 AM

More than just the corner opposite his more heralded teammate, Morris Claiborne joined Tyrann Mathieu in making history.

When the Associated Press announced its All-America teams Wednesday, Claiborne and Mathieu became the first pair of corners from the same team to earn first-team honors. With all the attention Mathieu receives, including being a Heisman finalist, Claiborne can be overlooked. But his play speaks volumes. This season, the junior and likely first-round pick if he declares for the NFL draft, led the team with six INTs, including one he returned 45 yards for a TD against Georgia in the SEC championship. Claiborne also broke up a half-dozen passes.
