Former Florida sophomore TE A.C. Leonard has decided to transfer to Tennessee State University and is eligible to play immediately.
Leonard already sat behind junior Jordan Reed at tight end and was in danger of losing playing time to younger players after his spring suspension following a domestic battery charge. Florida sophomore TE A.C. Leonard will transfer before the 2012 season, according to head coach Will Muschamp.

This is not a surprise, since Leonard sits behind junior Jordan Reed on the depth chart and is in danger of losing playing time to younger players after a March suspension following a domestic battery charge. Possible destinations were not given. Leonard caught eight passes for 99 yards as a freshman last year.

Tight end A.J. Leonard faces six months probation following his plea of no contest to a domestic battery charge.

Leonard was suspended from the team following his February arrest and was re-instated March 26 and allowed to participate in spring practice. His status for Saturday’s spring game in in question.

Following his arrest, Florida tight end A.C. Leonard is participating in spring practice at least for the time being.

Leonard served a six-week sentence for battery and has yet to scale some hurdles before coach Will Muschamp is willing to given him the green light for the fall. Leonard, who will be a sophomore, caught 8 passes for 99 yards last season.

Florida tight end A.C. Leonard was arrested Wednesday night and faces a charge of simple battery assault.

A dispute with a woman unfortunately turned physical and led to the player's arrest. Leonard missed the first eight games of his freshman season while recovering from knee surgery. In the final five games, including the Gator Bowl, he was 8-99-0. Leonard had 65 yards on 3 receptions against Florida State on Nov. 26.
