Seahawks selected LSU RB Spencer Ware with the No. 194 overall pick.
Ware (5-10, 228) was one of many committee backs in LSU's run-heavy offense, rushing 295 career times for 1,249 yards (4.23 YPC) and ten touchdowns. He added 39 career catches. Ware is a potential short-yardage specialist with a thick build and some power, but he's not going to run around or away from anyone. He's just a flier for the RB-rich Seahawks. LSU RB Spencer Ware visited the Arizona Cardinals.

Ware has visited the Indianapolis Colts, St. Louis Rams and New England Patriots recently and could be a late-round selection. He bench pressed 225 pounds 17 times and had a 7.28 three-cone drill.
Wed, Apr 17, 2013 06:11:00 PM's Aaron Wilson reports LSU RB Spencer Ware will visit with the Indianapolis Colts.

Ware recently worked out for the New England Patriots and is viewed as a third day selection in this month's draft. " At his campus Pro Day workout, he bench pressed 225 pounds 17 times and had a 35 1/2 inch vertical leap, a 9-11 broad jump, a 4.27 20-yard shuttle and a 7.28 three-cone drill," Wilson writes.

LSU RB Spencer Ware recently had dinner with the Rams.

Ware, a likely late third day selection, left LSU early to the surprise of many. The Rams received a lot of production from a seventh-round runner last season in Daryl Richardson, and Ware could be an option during the later parts of the third day.

LSU junior RB Spencer Ware announced that he will enter the 2013 NFL Draft.

Ware's touches nearly halved from his sophomore to his junior do to the presence of freshman Jeremy Hill. The thickly built runner will likely be a third day selection but flashed more often in 2011. It is tough to blame him for leaving a crowded backfield.

LSU head coach Les Miles said in a radio interview that junior RB Spencer Ware has been practicing in the wildcat package since the Spring.

Earlier this week Miles said, "We need to give Spencer Ware more touches. He's a dangerous weapon and somebody we have to use more." We do not think LSU suffers from a lack of creativity or talent at running back, instead the sputtering offense should be blamed on a decimated offensive line and statue-like quarterback.

With LSU thin at receiver, coach Les Miles has entertained the thought of moving a running back to help at the position. Teammates say that player could be Spencer Ware.

Ware ran for 707 yards (4.0 ypc) and tied for the team lead with 8 rushing touchdowns last season. He also caught 11 passes (1 TD) out of the backfield and has 21 career receptions in two seasons. At 5-11 and 233 Ware does not have prototypical build for a wideout, but he has the athleticism to handle the position if indeed Miles tabs him.
