Recent News's Gil Brandt reports former FAU WR Duron Carter worked out for the Miami Dolphins.
Brandt recently tweeted that Carter should be a priority free agent following the conclusion of the draft. He has a "similar speed (4.58), possession type," to his father, Cris, according to Brandt. We don't expect Carter to get drafted because of his reported poor attitude. He will have to come a long way to succeed in the NFL. Mon, Apr 8, 2013 04:42:00 PM

After leaving the FAU football program, junior WR Duron Carter has entered April's NFL Draft.

Duron, the son of Cris Carter, has chosen an odd collegiate path, going from Ohio State to Alabama to FAU, with neither landing spot offering much hope in terms of success. We doubt he is selected during April's Draft.

Junior WR Duron Carter, son of NFL great Cris, has left the FAU football program and will likely enter April's NFL Draft.

Carter was not granted permission by the NCAA to play this season after transferring from Alabama. He actually began his career at Ohio State, but Carter never found a fit at any of the three schools. The junior has put zeros up the last two years and focused on academics the final few weeks of this season.

FAU junior WR Drun Carter's hardship waiver was denied by the NCAA and he will not be eligible to play during the 2012 season.

Carter will still practice with the team and will be eligible to play in 2013, if he lasts that long. Chris' son has had a tumultuous collegiate career, starting at Ohio State, then to Alabama, and now he will stand on the sidelines at FAU where he was involved in multiple arguments with coaches during and after practice during preseason workouts.

Alabama junior WR transfer Duron Carter was kicked out of FAU's practice on Monday while his father, Chris, watched.

Carter was in the news earlier this weekend after he spent a majority of practice engaging in a heated conversation with his position coach. Obviously Chris' son has not put together a steady collegiate career, already transferring from top programs like Ohio State and Alabama.

Junior WR Duron Carter, son of Chris Carter, wants to play at FAU in 2012 but has yet to be admitted by the school.

Carter is also in the process of petitioning the NCAA for a transfer waiver, which would prevent him from being forced to redshirt the 2012 season. The college path has had many stops for Carter thus far, starting at Ohio State, followed by a stop at a community college, and finally Alabama where academic issues prohibited him from touching the field.

Suspended Alabama receiver Duron Carter suggested via social media that he might be around this spring.

The son of former NFL star receiver Cris Carter has not caught a pass in a major-college game since 2009. He was with his father’s alma mater, Ohio State, that year and caught 13 passes for 176 yards. He left the Buckeyes following that season -- his only one in Columbus -- due to academic issues. He went the community college route for a year before finding his way to Tuscaloosa, where academic concerns continued to plague him. If he can play, he might have a shot at contributing as the Tide’s top two wide receivers from a year ago (Marquis Maze and Darius Hanks) have departed.
