Dolphins selected Florida RB Mike Gillislee with the No. 164 overall pick.
Gillislee (5-11, 208) carried the Gators' passing-inept offense on his back in 2012, rushing 244 times for 1,152 yards (4.72 YPC) and 10 touchdowns. He only made 23 career receptions, but flashed a mean streak in blitz pickup. Gillislee ran 4.55 at the Combine with a 1.59 ten-yard split. He is a decisive, fluid, athletic runner with some power and shake. Gillislee's vision and decision making behind blocks are works in progress, but he has starting potential down the line. He could eventually make Daniel Thomas expendable. Sat, Apr 27, 2013 03:28:00 PM

Florida RB Mike Gillislee visited the Rams on Tuesday.

Gillislee seems to be lost in the shuffle at the running back position, but he thrives on front side runs, showing patience behind blockers and picking up what is given to him. Along with being a strong pass protector, Gillislee can likely be had during the third day, which will be a sweet spot for the position.

Fox Sports' Scott Carter reports Florida RB Mike Gillislee has a workout set for the Atlanta Falcons and St. Louis Rams.

Gillislee will be meeting with the Falcons on March 14 and with the Rams on April 2. Both teams are a fit for the running back's style, which is strictly downhill. Gillislee shows a good burst and aggressiveness in pass protection, which could appeal to both teams as they look to keep their franchise quarterbacks upright.

Florida RB Mike Gillislee will attend the Senior Bowl.

If someone had suggested Gillislee as a Senior Bowl invite prior to the season, we would have thought they were crazy. But, the Gator made his presence felt ins his first season as a starter. He thrives on front side runs, reading blockers and making strong cuts to get upfield.

Florida senior RB Mike Gillislee rushed for 60 yards on 16 carries and caught one touchdown pass for 45 yards Saturday against Missouri.

Once Gillislee gets downhill, he is tough to stop, and that was evident on the short screen he took to the house. The Gator is a front side runner that thrives behind pulling offensive linemen. He should be a second day selection.

Florida starting senior RB Mike Gillislee was limited to 37 yards on 19 carries Saturday against South Carolina.

Neither offense could move the ball, but the Gators benefited from multiple South Carolina turnovers deep in their own territory. Gillislee was repeatedly hit behind the line of scrimmage and couldn't get going on his beloved front side runs. It was a tough day, but only his first of the season.

Scouts Inc.'s Todd McShay now believes Florida senior RB Mike Gillislee is a fourth-round prospect and the 11th overall RB in this class.

"He can catch the ball and he has enough speed and quickness," McShay said. "But mostly he’s efficient and has good instincts as a runner, he runs behind his pads, runs low and just tough." It is a shame Gillislee was underutilized until his final season, but we have been impressed. He ranks as our second best senior running back.

Florida senior RB Mike Gillislee was limited to 67 yards on 17 carries Saturday against Vanderbilt.

He also added two receptions for a total of 12 yards. Other than sophomore Jeff Driskel's proficiency on the ground, the Gators were held in check offensively. Gillislee had a long run of 15 yards but after coming on strong in his first season as the lead ball carrier, we consider him the second best senior running back.

Florida senior RB Mike Gillislee gashed LSU for 146 yards on 34 carries, including two touchdowns, in Saturday's win.

What a strong season Gillislee has had, and really from out of nowhere. The senior sports a fairly lean frame but breaks tackles and is at his best when cutting laterally. The Gators backside vision is excellent and the long speed is there to outrun defenses. We think Gillislee is the second best senior running back behind Clemson's Andre Ellington.

Florida senior RB Mike Gillislee was held in check during Saturday's blowout win over Kentucky, rushing for 56 yards on 13 carries, including a touchdown.

Gillislee is still recovering from a strained groin, but the senior continues to show nice balance and one cut running off of blocks. He has really shown up this season after being overlooked on the Gators depth chart.

In his press conference Monday, Florida head coach Will Muschamp said that senior RB Mike Gillislee strained his groin Saturday but will be fine to play versus Tennesee.

It was reported earlier that coaches were "very concerned" about Gillislee's status for this week, but Muschamp appears quite optimistic that the senior will play. Thus far in 2012, Gillislee has rushed for 231 yards and four touchdowns on 6.1 yards per carry.

Florida coaches are reportedly "very concerned" about Gators senior RB Mike Gillislee's groin injury, specifically if he will be available this week.

Gillislee looked great on Saturday, rushing for 83 yards and two touchdowns, including an acrobatic tightrope along the sideline for a score. He has been the Gators top offensive surprise thus far and the team certainly needs his presence against Tennessee Saturday. Mack Brown and Matt Jones would receive a larger number of carries if the senior is held out.

Florida senior RB Mike Gillislee continued his strong early season effort after accumulating 83 rushing yards on 14 carries and had two touchdowns in Saturday's game against Texas A&M.

Gillislee continues to shine in his final collegiate season and showed off excellent balance today while tight roping the sideline on the way to the end zone. With a sophomore quarterback, The Gators would be wise to rely on Gillislee to set the tone for the offense.

Florida senior Mike Gillislee will enter preseason practice as the Gators' clear starter at RB.

Gillislee is the only Gator running back with experience and flashed "star potential" in limited carries over the last three seasons. However, the senior has not previously been able to stay healthy with a nagging ankle injury. He finished last season with 56 carries for 328 yards and two touchdowns. The Gators want to spotlight downhill ball carriers, so Gillislee will be pushed by sophomore Mack Brown and freshman Matt Jones.

Healthy and with an optimistic outlook, Mike Gillislee is working to be the Gators’ lead tailback.

Gillislee is atop the depth chart this spring. Now, it’s up to him to stay there. It is his job to lose. Staying on the field during his first three years in Gainesville was a difficult chore with ankle injuries and problems picking up blitzes shredding his playing time. The shame of it is good things usually happened when he touched the ball. In his first years, Gillislee averaged 6.3 yards per carry (920 yards) with 10 touchdowns.
