TCU junior RB Aaron Green had 19 carries for 128 yards and two touchdowns on Saturday.
That marks back-to-back nice starts for Green, who's rolling in place of B.J. Catalon (upper-body). He ran up the middle for a nice 24-yard touchdown run late in the third quarter, showcasing the acceleration and burst that scouts like from the runner. Green is a San Antonio native and transferred to TCU because Ameer Abdullah was blocking his path for running glory. Once Catalon returns, TCU is expected to split carries between the two backs. TCU junior RB Aaron Green "certainly has the attention of NFL scouts" after his performance against Kansas State, according to CBS Sports' Dane Brugler.

"A San Antonio native, Green left Lincoln due to his lack of playing time behind Ameer Abdullah and his desire to be closer to home. He will share the backfield duties once Catalon returns to the field, but Green certainly has the attention of NFL scouts after his performance over the weekend," Brugler wrote. The Nebraska-transfer carried the rock 18 times, averaging 9.5 yards a carry, with 171 yards rushing and one touchdown against Kansas State. Brugler notes that the TCU prospect "showed off his light feet and explosive lateral cuts to make defenders miss in space and then burst downfield with instant acceleration."

TCU junior RB Aaron Green ran the ball 18 times for 171 yards on Saturday.

Green was replacing regular starter B.J. Catalon, who was out with an upper-body injury. TCU didn't miss a beat, as Green was ripping off big runs on a regular basis against Kansas State. The Nebraska-transfer had a nifty 65-yard touchdown run in which he took a hand-off to the right, then revered course and picked up blockers on the other side of the field. "This is almost like a once in a lifetime opportunity," Green said. "We might potentially have a chance to play for a national championship."

Aaron Green announced that he will transfer to TCU.

Feeling he did not fit into the Cornhuskers’ scheme, the running back indicated late last month that he was leaving Nebraska, though he did not reveal where he was headed. The Texas native will be closer to home and play in what he feels will be s system better suited to his skills. Unless Green petitions the NCAA for a waiver, he will have to sit out the 2012 season. That timing could prove beneficial as, among TCU’s leading running backs from a year ago, only Waymon James will still be around.

Running back Aaron Green is leaving Nebraska.

According to his father, Green felt he did not fit into the Cornhuskers system and has decided to leave Lincoln. Oklahoma and Baylor are among schools Green is considering and he would have to sit out a year as a transfer to another FBS program. As a freshman last season, Green ran for 105 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He was expected to have a larger role in 2012. Green’s brother, Andrew, is a defensive back with the ‘Huskers.
