According to Dan Pompei of the National Football Post, the Browns draft board was arranged alphabetically.
Pompei writes this is "very unorthodox and can make it difficult to make decisions on the fly. Front office men around the league were buzzing about the unusual board last week. Also noteworthy is that the Browns did not allow the majority of their scouts in the draft room. But they are not the only team that locks out scouts." Most teams have a horizontal board by position and a vertical board by grade. Sun, May 5, 2013 01:54:00 PM

Browns selected LSU OLB Barkevious Mingo with the No. 6 overall pick.

Mingo (6-4, 241) tormented the SEC with 15 tackles for loss and eight sacks as a sophomore before his production dipped to 8.5 TFLs and 4.5 sacks last year. LSU coaches asked Mingo to work more in containment, but he failed to finish plays and must learn to play with better leverage. Still a highly explosive edge presence with big upside, Mingo is relentless with rare speed and length (33 3/4" arms). At the Combine, he ranked first among D-Linemen in the ten-yard split (1.55) and broad jump (10-foot-8), as well as second in the forty (4.58) and vertical (37"). Mingo will convert to outside linebacker in Cleveland's 3-4 defense, where he'll be a natural fit.

NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah tweeted that the Browns love LSU pass rusher Barkevious Mingo.

This makes sense, and there seems to be a strong possibility that Mingo is selected before Dion Jordan if Fisher and Joeckel are chosen with the first two picks. We think the Browns move up to select the pass rushing outside linebacker from LSU and use him as a situational pass rusher during his rookie season.

CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora tweets he keeps hearing "more and more" about LSU OLB Barkevious Mingo potentially going No. 4 overall.

The Eagles hold the No. 4 overall selection and have been linked to pass-rushers during the draft process. They're moving to a 3-4 defense, which is arguably the best fit for Mingo. Mingo lacks great explosiveness but has length and pop to be a good pass-rusher. He needs additional space to work with, which is why the 3-4 defense makes sense for him.

LSU OLB Barkevious Mingo is one of the few prospects not being "picked apart" by NFL evaluators right now, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

One scouting director told Rapoport, "He's so clean. Such upside. When you meet him, you love him." Mingo was far from perfect at LSU, and many will point to a lack of production as reason to not select him high. We think Mingo was asked to take a more conservative approach to contain mobile quarterbacks, but his movement skills are excellent.

SI's Peter King is hearing the Falcons are trying to trade up form pick No. 30.

The three likeliest positions to target are cornerback, tight end, and pass rusher. The team worked out Barkevious Mingo, but we aren't sure they have the ammunition to move up into the top 10. Jamar Taylor Tyler Eifert, and Bjoern Werner are three other possible considerations.

SI's Peter King hears that Jets coach Rex Ryan is "awfully smitten" with LSU pass rusher Barkevious Mingo.

"Rex Ryan might want a corner (is the Pope an Argentinean?)," King added, a thought that makes perfect sense because of the likely trade of Darrelle Revis. The team has invested two first-round picks on their front seven in consecutive years, but they are still in need of a true edge pass rusher with speed. Mingo's athleticism in short spaces is great.

LSU pass-rusher Barkevious Mingo will visit the Jacksonville Jaguars and Tennessee Titans.

It's interesting to note that the two teams are separated by eight selections, which may be slightly indicative of how the league views Mingo. It's been reported in the past that teams are split on him and understandably so. He has upside but needs a lot of work and doesn't appear to have great explosiveness off the line.

LSU pass rusher Barkevious Mingo has three visits lined up with the Bills, Browns, and Panthers.

The Bills and Browns visits are scheduled for this week, with the Panthers next. The Bills are looking to be more versatile up front, and the Browns could still select a pass rusher despite spending money there in free agency. The Panthers are an interesting fit, but he might be the best player available at pick No. 14.

National Football Post's Russ Lande reports LSU DL Barkevious Mingo might be gone by pick No. 15 after an impressive pro day.

"The LSU Pro Day was stock full of NFL talent and Mingo worked out as well as any other player and looked so quick and agile in drills that you would have thought he was a defensive back if you did not know any better," Lande writes. "After his performance my sources at the workout said they would be shocked if he is not drafted by the 15th pick in the first round." Mingo has upside but he's also a risky prospect.

CBS Sports' Dane Brugler notes that his biggest concern with LSU pass rusher Barkevious Mingo is his lack of "growth potential."

Mingo is "very lean muscled, (and) won't get much bigger," according to Brugler. He then cited Mingo's less aggressive pass rushing angles this season as reason for a dip in production, specifically coaching that asked Mingo to contain the edge. He has tremendous upside as a pass rushing linebacker next to a three man front.

NFL.com's Daniel Jeremiah believes LSU pass rusher Barkevious Mingo is "a tough one" to evaluate.

"His closing burst is impressive but I don't see same juice in his get off," Jeremiah tweeted. "One of the most underrated aspects of pass rushers is the ability to finish. Mingo missed several lay-ups in my tape study." There are certainly questions with Mingo's game, but we wonder how much he was asked to contain with his pass rushing angles this season.

Titan Insider's Terry McCormick reports the Tennessee Titans have scheduled a visit with LSU DE Barkevious Mingo.

Mingo is an intriguing fit for the Titans, who need a weak-side pass rusher and have a history of taking athletic pass-rushers. Mingo could fit in well with the team but there's doubt that he'll be available at their No. 10 selection.

Milwuakee Journal-Sentinel's Bob McGinn reports scouts are split on LSU DE/OLB Barkevious Mingo.

"Very good," one scout said. "He played basically down but he can stand up easy. Very (tenacious). Fast. He won his state 400 meters or something. He is non-stop." Several scouts said he paled in comparison to Broncos OLB Von Miller. "I think he's too stiff at the end of the day," another scout said. "Top 25. He's got quick feet."

LSU DE/OLB Barkevious Mingo ran a pair of unofficial 4.53 forties, with a 1.55 10 yard split, at the NFL Combine.

Mingo showed a lot of burst and build up speed throughout the straight-line run. We expect him to test well throughout the day, and the LSU Tiger likely projects as a pass rushing outside linebacker.
