Colts selected USC C Khaled Holmes with the No. 121 overall pick.
Holmes (6-foot-3, 302) was a three-year starter for the Trojans, playing guard as a sophomore and center as a junior and senior. A finesse blocker with rare 35-inch arms for an interior lineman, Holmes managed just 13 bench reps in Indy and must add strength. Once he develops, NFL teams may prefer Holmes at left guard because he struggled snapping the ball at USC. He's a major project because right now he has zero power. The Colts have question marks all over the interior offensive line. Sat, Apr 27, 2013 01:18:00 PM

USA Today's Tony Pauline reports that NFL evaluators are questioning USC C Khaled Holmes' commitment to football.

Pauline says teams are "going as far as saying he doesn't even like to play the game." Holmes anchored the Trojans' offensive line for some time but dealt with injuries this season. "I spoke with several people in the Holmes camp who acknowledged that this is a concern amongst NFL teams. They feel this has more to do with the fact that Holmes, who is close to finishing his Masters Degree, has a lot of off the field interests, which at times makes him seem aloof to football." Pauline believes Holmes has starting potential.

CBS Sports' Rob Rang reports USC C Khaled Holmes will have a campus workout with the Philadelphia Eagles.

The workout will be held on March 29 and could be an option later in the draft for the team, provided he impresses in the workout. He's battled injuries in his career but has been considered at the center and guard positions during the draft process.

One unnamed NFL scout to Pro Football Weekly that he wouldn't be surprised to see USC C Khaled Holmes be drafted as a G.

"Holmes has very good size like Peter Konz did last year," the scout says. He "uses a lot of finesse. I thought he had some trouble snapping the ball in the games I saw. He didn't get it back very quick and some (defensive linemen) got on top of him." The Trojan battled a leg injury for a large portion of the 2012 season.

USC head coach Lane Kiffin remained noncommittal on senior C Khaled Holmes' status for Thursday's game against Utah.

"I hope that he plays," Kiffin said. "Obviously, there's a big difference when he does. The last two games that he's played, we've rushed for over 250 yards." The Trojans could be in big trouble is Holmes is forced out due to a leg injury suffered weeks ago, since Utah sports the top senior defensive tackle prospect in Star Lotulelei.

During USC's win over Cal, senior C Khaled Holmes was carted off the field yet again with a leg injury.

Holmes had sat out the previous week with an ankle injury but start Saturday's contest. That did not last long, however, and we are starting to question if this is an injury that will linger all season. Even when he was in the game, Holmes was not his normal self, looking far less mobile and much more stiff in the lower body. Abe Markowitz could start at center in Holmes' absence.

USC senior C Khaled Holmes will start against Stanford despite suffering an ankle injury last week.

Holmes is the Trojans most veteran offensive lineman and can really move for the position. Stanford does not possess a ton of interior talent, but Holmes will likely peel off to block inside linebacker Shayne Skov on multiple occasions.

No updates were given by USC head coach Lane Kiffin Sunday on the status of senior C Khaled Holmes.

Holmes suffered an ankle injury Saturday against Syracuse and was carted off the field. As the most veteran member of the Trojans offensive line, Kiffin is crossing his fingers for Holmes to quickly return. USC faces Stanford on Saturday and the Cardinal defense sports a good amount of talent.

USC senior C Khaled Holmes was taken off the field on a cart after suffering an ankle injury in Saturday's contest against Syracuse.

The extent of the injury is unknown. Holmes is the most veteran member of the Trojans offensive line and is their clear leader at the center position. He was hurt towards the end of the game and we will update you with information as it comes in.

USC senior C Khaled Holmes missed a large amount of spring practices with a strained calf but has since fully healed from the injury.

On the bright side, Holmes, the team's most experienced offensive lineman, was the only player of the group to miss extensive time. In a fairly weak senior center class, many consider Holmes to be one of the top prospects at the position. We think he is at his best when getting to the second level and hitting moving targets with anticipation, so a zone-heavy running scheme could be in his future.
