NFL.com's Gil Brandt would try Florida senior TE Trey Burton at RB or S if he ran an NFL team.
Burton, a former quarterback, has caught 31 passes for 347 yards and a touchdown this season. He is filling a similar role to what Jordan Reed played last year, but Reed is a much more fluid mover. We aren't sure a position switch is necessary, since Burton has flashed in his short time as a receiving tight end. Thu, Nov 7, 2013 12:22:00 PM

Burton has lined up in a variety of places during his time at Florida, including quarterback. He isn't as smooth as Jordan Reed but and likely lacks the size to briefly block inline, but he is an intriguing move prospect regardless.

Florida junior ATH Trey Burton is expected to play against LSU on October 6 after back spasms kept him out of the game against Kentucky.

Other Florida players are expected to return, including junior tight end Jordan Reed who suffered a concussion, sophomore tackle Chaz Green who has healed from a sprained ankle, and junior defensive end Dominique Easley, who dealt with knee inflammation. Burton is a jack of all trades type prospect that will need to show reliability as a receiver in order to make an NFL roster.

Coach Will Muschamp would like to see Trey Burton utilized in many ways.

The 6-foot-3, 230-pound standout athlete went from 113 touches and 12 touchdowns as a freshman in 2010 to all of 62 touches and four TDs last season. Though hobbled at times, Burton managed to play in every game, but had an impact in few. Gators fans can expect to see much more of him in 2012.
