Former Oklahoma and current Cardinals S Tony Jefferson took to Twitter to advise college prospects to not declare for the draft unless they are a "top pick."
"Stay stay stay in school. I know the money looks good but you get a better evaluation if you stay," Jefferson tweeted. The safety left Oklahoma one year early, and despite going undrafted he has produced a solid NFL career. Some reports state this year's non-senior number of declarations will "dwarf" last year's record. Mon, Dec 22, 2014 10:38:00 AM

Oklahoma S Tony Jefferson will "probably go in the second-round," according to ESPN's Herm Edwards.

"Jefferson is a good but not great all-around prospect," Edwards writes. "Even though he's not a great tackler, he'll get opponents down. Although he's an aggressive hitter, his ball skills are inconsistent -- especially down the field. On film, he didn't get his head around on several vertical routes thrown over his head." We consider Jefferson more of a third day prospect.

Oklahoma junior S Tony Jefferson will forgo his final season of eligibility and enter the NFL Draft.

The Sooners history of producing successful defensive backs to the NFL is not long, so Jefferson will be fighting to break the stigma. We think he can, as the junior has a lot of range and isn't afraid to work upfield and make a play. He wasn't on point during the team's bowl game, but Jefferson is another good name in a great safety class.

Oklahoma junior S Tony Jefferson returned to practice Monday after missing an extended period of time following an ankle injury that occurred during the team's week two macthup.

"Tony Jefferson practiced the whole day today. No more questions about Tony. He took every snap," head coach Bob Stoops said. Jefferson has started 23 of the 29 career games he has played in and the Sooners are expecting him to play Saturday against Kansas State.
