Penn State redshirt senior LB Mike Hull has accepted an invite to the Senior Bowl.
Hull has a motor that doesn't stop, to use the old cliche, which makes up for some of his athletic shortcomings. He's also the leader of Penn State's defense and has quick diagnostic skills which should translate well. CBS Sports' Dane Brugler wrote in late October that Hull has "read/react quickness to break down and make a play" within the flow of a game. Nov 10 - 4:51 PM

Penn State redshirt senior LB Mike Hull "has been excellent this season," writes CBS Sports' Dane Brugler.

Hull leads the Big Ten with 83 tackles. "His impact was on display in the near upset of Ohio State Saturday night," Brugler wrote. "He finished with 19 tackles, including 2.5 for loss, and one interception, showing terrific recognition skills and read/react quickness to break down and make a play. Hull isn't the most athletic or strongest linebacker prospect for the 2015 class, but he certainly plays his tail off and trusts what he sees, two qualities that will endear him to coaches at the next level."

Penn State redshirt senior LB Mike Hull "is arguably the top linebacker in the Big Ten," writes CBS Sports' Dane Brugler.

Hull started nine games last season while suffering from a lingering knee injury, collecting 78 tackles and 4.5 tackles for loss. "He is the leader of the defense and makes the move to middle linebacker in 2014 where he can use his diagnose skills to break down the action and attack in the blink of an eye," Brugler wrote. "A healthy version of Hull is arguably the top linebacker in the Big Ten and a draftable player next spring."

Penn State sophomore linebacker Mike Hull is visiting Pittsburgh this weekend, according to beat writer Dale Lolley.

Hull is not currently a starter for the Nittany Lions but has three years of eligibility remaining and could crack the lineup during that time, specifically if the team converts to a 3-4 defense. The redshirt sophomore is from the Pittsburgh area and it is rumored that senior teammate Mike Yancich traveled with him. Hull recorded 18 tackles, including 1.5 for loss, two pass breakups and one blocked kick in 2011.
