Former Oklahoma State senior T Michael Bowie is transferring to Division-II Northeastern State.

Bowie was not technically dismissed from Oklahoma State, where he was projected to start at left tackle, but head coach Mike Gundy said his removal from the team was due to a violation of unspecified team rules. The senior will be eligible to play immediately and is a fringe NFL talent. SI's Tony Pauline recently projected him as a fifth- or sixth-round prospect.

Senior T Michael Bowie is no longer a member of the Oklahoma State football team, according to head coach Mike Gundy.

Bowie was the Cowboys' projected starter at left tackle. Gundy did not say that Bowie was dismissed, but explained that his departure was for a violation of unspecified team rules. "We don’t really bend for anybody at any particular time. The team will be fine. Another player steps in. We expect them to compete," Gundy said. Redshirt freshman Devin Davis will get the first shot to take Bowie's place on freshman quarterback Wes Lunt's blindside.
