Cal senior T Matt Summers-Gavin is listed as questionable for Saturday's game against Oregon with a knee injury.
Although no specifics were given, we believe this injury is related to the MCL injury in Summers-Gavin's left knee that caused him to miss three games earlier in the season. Cal has had another difficult year, but Summers-Gavin will get looks in the NFL at guard with a heavy zone blocking team. Mon, Nov 5, 2012 09:34:00 AM

Cal senior RT Matt Summers-Gavin is expected to play against UCLA on Saturday despite a sore knee which limited him in Tuesday's practice.

Summers-Gavin missed three games prior to last weekend's contest against Arizona State due to a MCL injury in his left knee, so some soreness is expected. We like the senior's pro prospects more than most others if he lands on a team that relies on zone running concepts.

Cal's top offensive lineman, senior T Matt Summers-Gavin, will miss this weekend's matchup with Ohio State due to a MCL injury in his left knee.

This will be Summers-Gavin's second straight missed game, after being held out of last week's contest with Southern Utah, and he remains week-to-week. Although he is undersized, Summers-Gavin moves very well on zone blocking running plays and can absorb well in pass protection. He projects best as a slanting guard prospect, but the Cal senior is a personal favorite. Despite a few injuries of their own, the Buckeyes deploy quite a number of pass rushers, so Summers-Gavin's absence will likely be felt.
