Stanford will incorporate freshmen RB Barry Sanders and WR Kodi Whitfield in their offensive rotation.

Sanders, son of NFL hall of famer Barry, has shown excellent elusiveness in scrimmages, cutting outside to evade or spinning to break tackles after a short reception. "It's in his DNA. You don't coach or learn the things that he can do instinctively," offensive coordinator Pep Hamilton said. Sanders could still be redshirted since Stepfan Taylor has a firm grasp on the starting job. When asked about Whitfield head coach David Shaw said, "he's going to play right now, right off the bat."
