Alabama CB Bradley Sylve suffered a torn Achilles tendon on Tuesday.
Warming up to prepare for the Tide's pro day on Wednesday, Sylve's NFL chances become much longer one day before he was set to audition for scouts. It's a shame, because Alabama's Special Teams Players of the Year (he was also a backup corner) was expected to dominate testing. Also a track athlete at Alabama, the 6-foot, 180-pounder ran a 4.38 second 40-yard dash last spring. Mar 9 - 2:19 PM

Alabama redshirt junior CB Bradley Sylve claims to be faster than star wide receiver Amari Cooper.

The two discussed a race in April, and then Sylve tweeted the following at Cooper on Tuesday: "Happy G'day second fastest on the team." It's entirely possible that the reserve corner beat Cooper in a race, but it's a 100-percent certainty that he can't cover Cooper, one of the nation's most dangerous weapons. Sylve, a fourth-year junior, was a state-champion track star in Louisiana, winning the 100-meter and 200-meter titles. Cooper claims to run a 4.31 forty, so he isn't exactly a slouch either.

Alabama redshirt sophomore CB Bradley Sylve is considered day-to-day with a high ankle sprain.

Sylve was injured against Arkansas on October 19 and sat out against Tennessee the next week. Alabama had a bye in preparation of the game against LSU, but head coach Nick Saban admitted Sylve is still not 100 percent. Sophomore Cyrus Jones and freshman Eddie Jackson will continue to see larger roles.

Alabama redshirt freshman CB Bradley Sylve broke his hand during Thursday's practice but he may not be forced to miss any time.

According to head coach Nick Saban, it is a similar break to the one that wide receiver Julio Jones suffered two years ago, linebacker Dont’a Hightower suffered last year and freshman running back T.J. Yeldon suffered in the spring. Each was able to come back and practice the next day, so Sylve will likely be listed as day-to-day. The freshman has been lining up as junior Dee Milliner's backup and will likely keep that spot while playing with a cast.
