Dolphins signed Oklahoma RB Damien Williams.
Williams (5-foot-11 1/8, 222) spent just two years with the Sooners before getting kicked off the team last November for multiple team violations. He finished his brief career with 290 carries for 1,499 yards (5.17 YPC) and 18 touchdowns, adding 43 receptions. Williams' off-field issues are plenty, but he has 4.45 speed and short-area burst (10-foot-1 broad jump) with quick feet and a body to handle large workloads. He's also a very good receiver. If Williams can get his head on straight, he could become an intriguing Dynasty sleeper. Knowshon Moreno and Lamar Miller sit weakly atop the depth chart in Miami. May 11 - 2:53 PM

Scouts Inc.'s Todd McShay believes Oklahoma's Damien Williams has the most upside at the RB position.

"He goes to the Combine and has an explosive workout... the guy can move laterally, can explode with his lower body, can catch the football," McShay said. "I think it is terrific value if you can get him in that fifth- or sixth-round range." Williams was dismissed from the Oklahoma football team in November, but McShay gave him a third-round grade heading into the season.

Oklahoma senior RB Damien Williams has been dismissed from the team by head coach Bob Stoops.

Williams was listed by some as one of the top senior running backs in the country, but this will certainly raise flags. The school only has two games left on their schedule. Williams missed multiple games this season, and off-field issues likely snowballed into this final decision. He finished his career with 290 carries for 1,499 yards and 18 touchdowns.

Oklahoma senior RB Damien Williams will not play against Kansas State due to a suspension.

No specific reason was given other than the senior was in violation of team rules. Williams also missed time earlier in the season due to injury. Brennan Clay will see the majority of work, and we hope Roy Finch sees some offensive touches as well.

Oklahoma senior RB Damien Williams will not play against Tulsa on Saturday.

No reason was given for Williams' absence. Expect Brennan Clay to get his share of carries, but Trey Millard and Roy Finch could see an increase in touches. Blake Bell will get the start at quarterback, so expect to see a major emphasis on the ground game.

Scouts Inc.'s Kevin Weidl wonders if Oklahoma senior RB Damien Williams has the necessary skills to create yards on his own.

Weidl likes Williams' burst, power, versatility, and ability to finish, but isn't as confident in the Sooner's vision and lateral quickness. Oklahoma has had plenty of talent at the running back position in the last few years, and Williams will likely see some touches go to Trey Millard.

NFL.com's Gil Brandt ranks Oklahoma's Damien Williams as the top senior RB heading into the 2013 season.

USC's Silas Redd, Ohio State's Carlos Hyde, Western Kentucky's Antonio Andrews, and former Houston Cougar Charles Sims round out the top five. Williams will likely earn the most carries, but he has plenty of competition for touches in the Sooner's backfield.

Oklahoma junior RB Damien Williams rushed for 115 yards and one touchdown on 18 carries Saturday against TCU.

Williams showcased agility at the second level, breaking tackles or forcing defenders to miss with lateral moves. He was listed behind multiple options in the Sooners' backfield at the start of the season, but Williams is the most trusted rusher of the group.

Oklahoma junior college RB transfer Damien Williams led the team to victory over UTEP on Saturday, running for 104 yards on nine caries, including a 65 yard run to seal the game.

Williams is listed behind senior Dominique Whaley and junior Brennan Clay on the depth chart, but leap frogged junior Roy Finch and basically sent the small back to receiver. Head coach Bob Stoops values backs that can pass protect, so Williams big frame suits the style. The Sooners have been known to line three running backs up in the backfield at the same time, so Williams could see a handful of carries per game. The team will likely feed the hot hand.
