Miami senior WR Allen Hurns will attend the East-West Shrine Game.
Hurns boasts a nice frame and body control. His quarterback, Stephen Morris, is expected to attend the Senior Bowl, so they could impress early at an event that usually lacks chemistry between passers and receivers. Wed, Dec 11, 2013 02:53:00 PM

The 6-foot-3 Miami native finished with six catches for 126 yards. Only three Hurricane receivers have topped 1,000 receiving yards, but Hurns is about to join the club. He currently sits at 965 yards. Draft analyst Tony Pauline believes Hurns could sneak into the third round in May's draft.

Draft analyst Tony Pauline thinks Miami senior WR Allen Hurns could sneak into the third round.

Pauline expected big things from Hurns when he was a sophomore, but injuries have at times derailed the youngster's career. "I broke my thumb last year and had a concussion that held me out for two games," Hurns said. "The [torn labrum surgery] kept me out of spring football right after my sophomore season ... What I'm most proud of really is I haven't been restricted in any games this year. I've played in all of them." The 6-foot-3 Miami native is firmly on NFL scouts' radars. "I see him as a third receiver, a slot-type guy [in the NFL]," an NFC scout said of Hurns.

Miami senior WR Allen Hurns had five catches for 84 yards in a 41-14 loss to Florida State on Saturday.

The Hurricanes didn't have the ammunition to keep up with the loaded Seminoles, but Hurns did his part by hauling in a pair of touchdown receptions. Hurns now has four TD catches on the year, the same amount he had in both 2011 and 2012. Hurns has surpassed 80 receiving yards in five of his last six games. The 6-foot-3 Miami native will be in an NFL camp next summer, but he's not yet a lock to be drafted.

Miami senior WR Allen Hurns hauled in six catches for 98 yards in a 27-23 win over North Carolina on Thursday night.

Due to Duke Johnson and Phillip Dorsett being in street clothes due to injury, and quarterback Stephen Morris throwing four interceptions, Miami needed and received huge nights from running back Dallas Crawford (33 carries for 137 yards and two TD) and Hurns. Hurns has surpassed 80 receiving yards in four straight games. The 6-foot-3 Miami native is on NFL scouts' radars.

Miami junior WR Allen Hurns was spotted with a cast on his left hand, and sources close to the Miami Herald indicated there is a break near the thumb.

As of now, the Herald is unsure if Hurns will be able to play with the cast, but the junior is certainly one of the team's top receivers. He has 27 receptions for 307 yards and four touchdowns on the season.
