Falcons selected Notre Dame S Zeke Motta with the No. 244 overall pick.
Motta (6-2, 213) played linebacker early in his career before converting to the secondary and making 29 starts, primarily as an "in the box" safety. He managed just two career tackles for loss and two interceptions, displaying poor ball skills. A Reed Doughty-type, Motta runs a 4.83 forty and has stiff hips. He'll probably max out as a special teamer and third safety for the Falcons. Sat, Apr 27, 2013 07:14:00 PM

Scout.com's Aaron Wilson reports Notre Dame S Zeke Motta visited the Carolina Panthers and Atlanta Falcons recently.

"At the NFL scouting combine, Matta bench pressed 225 pounds 11 times and registered a 35 1/2 inch vertical leap, a 10-6 broad jump, a 4.16 20-yard shuttle and a 6.7 three-cone drill," Wilson added. Motta is an aggressive defender that's tough, instinctive and attacks the line of scrimmage well. He projects best as a strong safety.

SI's Tony Pauline labeled senior Zeke Motta as Notre Dame's next talented safety prospect.

Pauline calls Motta a "forceful run defender who looks and plays like a linebacker at the safety position." Although the senior is not a true coverage safety with the range to play center field, he is excellent at aggressively filling the box and closing running lanes with ahead of steam. Motta projects as a strong safety type prospect.
