Pittsburgh senior WR/TE Mike Shanahan caught three passes for 79 yards and a touchdown Saturday against UConn.

Shanahan continues to impress despite being a tweener. We believe he projects best as a receiving or slot tight end in the NFL, able to use his high point ability and size as a nice target.

Pittsburgh senior WR/TE Mike Shanahan eclipsed the century mark for the second game in a row, registering 144 yards on five catches Saturday, including two touchdowns.

Shanahan's first touchdown came on a short slant, but he used his body to gain proper body position in front of the corner. The second was a much longer, 77 yarder, where the senior tip-toed the sideline and used some underrated straight-line speed to pull away. The senior is an interesting prospect that could be a receiving Joker tight end option in the very late rounds.
