Central Michigan senior T Jake Olson ranks as draft insider Tony Pauline's ninth-best MAC draft prospect.
Olson received a sixth season of eligibility from the NCAA in December after he injured his right knee in late September. He's expected to make the switch to the left side this season, a spot formerly occupied by No. 1 overall pick Eric Fisher. Olson is ranked by Pauline as an undrafted free agent at the moment, a sad commentary for the formerly elite prospect. "One time highly rated tackle prospect whose career has been ravaged by knee injuries," he writes. "Looked like a potential first round pick after his freshman season but has struggled with several knee issues since. Medical risk at this point." Thu, Aug 1, 2013 03:50:00 PM

Central Michigan senior T Jake Olson has received a sixth season of eligibility from the NCAA.

Olson was a starter at right tackle this season until injuring his right knee in late September. He is expected to make the switch to the left side, a spot where likely first-round pick Eric Fisher left open. We think Olson definitely has a chance to be drafted.

Central Michigan RT Jake Olson is out indefinitely with a knee injury he suffered against Michigan State.

Olson is not the prospect fellow senior Jake Fisher is, who we feel is a near lock to be drafted in the top-64 picks as a left tackle. Still, Olson catches evaluators eyes when watching Fisher but it is unclear if he will return this season. A solid performance in post season all star games would help tremendously.
