Hicks has an injured hip, and this will be his third straight game missed. The Longhorns linebackers have been dreadful the past few weeks and have been a main reason the defense has struggled despite possessing talent.

Texas starting junior LB Jordan Hicks and backup sophomore RB Malcolm Brown are both doubtful to play in Saturday's game against Oklahoma.

Brown suffered a sprained ankle a couple of weeks ago and missed his first game of the season last week. Hicks also missed last weekend's game after injuring his hip against Ole Miss, and his absence was certainly felt against the Mountaineers.

Hicks missed the majority of the Longhorns last two games, including the contest against Oklahoma State which came after a bye week. Demarco Cobbs and Steve Edmond will have to pick up the slack.

Hicks was injured during last week's game with Ole Miss but had been playing at a high level. It appears sophomore Kendall Thompson will take his place in the starting rotation.
