Georgia senior WR Michael Bennett tore his ACL in his last game at Georgia in Tuesday’s Belk Bowl.

Georgia added Bennett is "expected to return to the team at some point this season following completion of a rehab program." Georgia junior WR Michael Bennett will have his right knee scoped and has already been ruled out for Saturday's game against Missouri.

The operation will take place on Tuesday. The Bulldogs seem uncertain about his status moving forward, so the scope should help determine how long he will be sidelined. Bennett missed a large portion of last season due to a torn ACL in that same knee.

Georgia junior WR Michael Bennett injured his right knee against Tennessee and will miss the remainder of the game.

Bennett tore the ACL in that knee last season, almost exactly a year ago. It doesn't look good on the sideline, as Bennett is surrounded by trainers and his family. He and Aaron Murray had a great connection on the field prior to both injuries.

Georgia junior WR Michael Bennett is still no 100 percent following last season's torn ACL.

Bennett was the school's leading receiver before the injury occurred in early October. "He says he feels great and feels fine," offensive coordinator Mike Bobo said. "My conversations with him and the quarterbacks this summer is they like how he looks. I’ve seen him walk around the other day, I think he’s five pounds down. He looks great."

Georgia's leading WR, sophomore Michael Bennett, will miss the remainder of the 2012 season with a torn ACL in his right knee.

The injury occurred towards the end of Tuesday's practice. Bennett had already registered 24 catches for 345 yards and four touchdowns. His ability to beat man coverage was one of the offensive keys that allowed Georgia to top Tennessee last weekend. Senior Tavarres King is a reliable downfield threat while senior Marlon Brown will have to step up in order to compensate for the loss of Bennett.

Georgia sophomore WR Michael Bennett noted that the Bulldogs recent prowess in the running game has forced defenses to play more man coverage.

The Georgia ground game is forcing linebackers and safeties to play in the box, allowing the receivers to work on islands on the outside. "We’re good enough as receivers to get open when it’s one-on-one coverage, and we make it happen," Bennett said. Neither aspect of the offense appears to be slowing down, and along with their super talented defense, Georgia is on a roll.
