Maryland senior QB Perry Hills (shoulder) is a game-time decision for Saturday's game against Nebraska.
Hills has been dealing with a balky shoulder for over a month. Most recently, he was able to start against Ohio State last weekend, but re-injured his wing on a draw just six plays into the game. He did not play after suffering that injury. Caleb Rowe figures to start in his place if he can't give it a go against the Cornhuskers on Saturday, with freshman Tyrrell Pigrome also an option here. Date:

Maryland senior QB Perry Hills (shoulder) is listed as the starter on the depth chart in advance of Saturday's game against Ohio State.

Hills has been labeled "day-to-day" by HC D.J. Durkin. He is on the mend from a shoulder injury suffered against Michigan last weekend. It looks like he will be able to play against Ohio State come Saturday. Should the Terrapins opt to keep him on the sideline this weekend, Caleb Rowe would start in his place.
Nov 11 - 8:51 PM

Maryland senior QB Perry Hills (shoulder) is day-to-day.

Hills injured his shoulder in the first half of Saturday's loss to Michigan. Caleb Rowe took over for him upon his exit and would draw the start against Ohio State this coming Saturday should Hills be unable to play. Expect further updates as to Hills' availability to come as the practice week progresses.

Nov 8 - 4:49 PM

Maryland senior QB Perry Hills exited in the first half of Saturday's game against Michigan due to an apparent injury.

It isn't quite clear what the issue is, here, as Hills was followed by cameras jogging into the locker room without any outward signs of injury. The ailment might be related to his arm or shoulder. Caleb Rowe took over for him at quarterback after he was forced out. Expect an update on the 6-foot-2, 213-pounder's status after the game. With Michigan rolling 35-0 just before halftime, there is little incentive here for Hills to be reinstalled in the contest, even if his health is permitting.
Nov 5 - 4:58 PM

Maryland senior QB Perry Hills completed 22-for-33 of his attempts for 248 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception in Saturday's loss to Indiana.

Hills chipped in two rushing touchdowns. The Terps smartly don't ask Hills to do much beyond throwing to the intermediate part of the field, and he's responded with decent efficiency numbers and a solid completion percentage but not many explosive passing plays.
Nov 2 - 7:52 PM

Maryland HC D.J. Durkin said that senior QB Perry Hills (shoulder) will be a game-time decision for Saturday's date with Michigan State.

Hills sat out Saturday's loss to Minnesota to nurse a shoulder injury that had been nagging him for several weeks, one which was apparently reaggravated against Penn State two weekends ago. When healthy this season, the 6-foot-2, 213-pounder has thrown for 622 yards with a 6/2 TD/INT ratio. Tyrrell Pigrome will draw the start vs. Michigan State if Hills is unable to play in that one.
Oct 20 - 2:09 PM

Maryland senior QB Perry Hills exited Saturday's humbling 38-14 loss to Penn State in the second quarter with an unspecified injury.

Hills was injured on a keeper. Maryland HC DJ Durkin and Maryland officials have not yet specified what the exact injury is, but Hills battled through a shoulder malady last month and trainers were working on Hills' upper body on the field. He was replaced by Tyrrell Pigrome.
Oct 8 - 4:50 PM

Maryland senior QB Perry Hills (shoulder) is probable for Saturday's game against Purdue.

Hills injured his shoulder in Saturday's win over UCF. This doesn't look to be a serious injury, though, at least not at this juncture. Through three games, the 6-foot-2, 213-pounder has passed for 463 yards with a 3/0 TD/INT ratio. The Terps are sitting at 3-0, but there is no fantasy upside here.
Sep 27 - 12:58 PM

Maryland senior QB Perry Hills completed 13-of-18 passes for 210 yards and three touchdowns in Friday's 41-14 win over Florida International.

Hills' favorite target was D.J. Moore, who hauled in six receptions for 147 yards and two touchdowns. Maryland head coach DJ Durkin took Hills out of the game late in the third quarter after the game got out of hand. The 2-0 Terps will be favored next week at UCF.
Sep 9 - 11:38 PM

Maryland senior QB Perry Hills completed 14 of 19 attempts for 126 yards in the school's 52-13 win over Howard.

Hills was named the starter about two weeks ago. There was nothing overly impressive about Hills' performance, and the Terps face FIU and UCF in the next two contests.
Sep 3 - 5:48 PM

Maryland named senior Perry Hills the school's starting QB.

Hills has received first team reps throughout the offseason, so this announcement is not surprising. His top competition, senior Caleb Rowe, was absent for a week with an undisclosed injury. Freshman Tyrell Pigrome could see the field in some instances due to his athleticism.
Aug 24 - 11:27 AM

Maryland senior QB Perry Hills is receiving the "bulk" of the first team reps, according to beat writer Roman Stubbs.

Senior Caleb Rowe has been absent for the last week due to an undisclosed injury, and he is Hills' top competition for the starting gig. Athletic freshman Tyrell Pigrome apparently has caught DJ Durkin's eye as well, and the head coach wants to give him a fair opportunity. The Terrapins have lost a number of talents to the NFL over the last two seasons. Maryland opens their season against Howard on September 3.
Aug 17 - 8:13 AM

Maryland junior QB Perry Hills (illness) is expected to be a game-time decision for Saturday's tilt versus Rutgers.

Hills was not able to fully participate in Tuesday's practice, which is never a good sign. He also missed last week's game against Indiana due to illness. Caleb Rowe got the start, but Rowe will also be a game-time decision against the Knights because of a head injury.

Maryland junior QB Perry Hills will miss Saturday's game against Indiana, meaning Caleb Rowe will start.

Hills started the last five games and has always been moving of a rushing than passing threat, at least big play wise. Rowe has an amazing 5:15 TD to INT ratio this season in limited action.

According to Maryland HC Randy Edsall, junior QB Perry Hills is leading the team's quarterback competition at this point.

Said Edsall, "After we evaluated that, right now, Perry is No. 1 with Daxx [Garman] being a very close second, and then Caleb [Rowe] would be third right now." Hills received most of the first-string reps in scrimmage on Saturday. The 6-foot-3, 205-pound junior tore his ACL in 2012, missed the 2013 season and threw only 10 passes a year ago. Perhaps the most surprising part of Edsall's statement is that Caleb Rowe--who many expected to start--is currently third on the depth chart.
