Maryland redshirt junior QB Caleb Rowe was awful again in Saturday's 28-0 loss to Michigan, completing 8-of-27 passes for 47 yards and three interceptions.
Why is Rowe still playing? Your guess is as good as ours. He's thrown 12 interceptions (4/12 TD/INT ratio in 13 quarters) since entering late in the Terrapins' second game. To be fair, it's unclear if what Maryland has behind him can move the offense. Still, it's hard to imagine another quarterback playing as poorly as Rowe has. In this one, Oklahoma State transfer Daxx Garman came on in relief and wasn't effective either. Perhaps Maryland should just consider running Red Beaulieu's all-kneel offense famously used to neutralize South Central Louisiana State University Mud Dogs mega-stud LB Bobby Boucher in the Bourbon Bowl. Maryland redshirt junior QB Caleb Rowe was abysmal in Saturday's 45-6 loss to West Virginia, completing just 10-of-27 passes for 67 yards with four interceptions.

Ouchie. Rowe's now thrown seven interceptions in his last two games, with nine on the season. In last week's three-pick performance against South Florida, the 6-foot-3, 215-pound redshirt junior at least balanced his interception tally with four touchdown passes. That wasn't the case in Saturday's loss to West Virginia, as Rowe failed to find the end zone in his 27 attempts. Stay tuned to see if the Terrapins opt to make any sort of quarterback change following this game. Daxx Garman would be in line to start if Maryland has grown tired of Rowe's pick-happy ways.

Maryland redshirt junior QB Caleb Rowe will start Saturday's contest against South Florida.

After an ineffective performance by now-deposed starter Perry Hills in Saturday's loss to Bowling Green, Rowe will get a chance to start against South Florida this week. The 6-foot-3, 215-pound redshirt junior didn't particularly impress in his own action versus the boys at Bowling Green, throwing two interceptions, but apparently HC Randy Edsall feels like the team needs an early-season shake. Rowe tore his left ACL during practice in October of 2014 before losing out on the starting job in August. Oklahoma State transfer product Daxx Garman has now been shuttled up to the No. 2 man on the totem pole.

Maryland is seeking a medical redshirt for redshirt junior QB Caleb Rowe.

Rowe tore an ACL during an October practice and missed the remainder of the season. He only appeared in four 2014 games, none after mid-season, which gives the Terps' Rowe a decent chance of winning a waiver. If given the medical redshirt, Rowe will be eligible through 2016. If rejected, 2015 will be his last collegiate season. Rowe will take over for C.J. Brown as the undisputed starter next season.

Maryland redshirt junior QB Caleb Rowe will miss the remainder of the season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament.

The team announced the news on Saturday after Rowe hurt his left knee during a non-contact drill in Tuesday’s practice. As long as he's healthy, C.J. Brown will be the undisputed starter for the rest of the season. Rowe, meanwhile, should be the starter next season, after Brown graduates -- assuming he's recovered in time.

Maryland is now without a scholarship QB on the roster after its fourth starter at the position, freshman Caleb Rowe, tore his ACL last weekend.

A scout team freshman linebacker, Shawn Petty, will now serve as the team's starting quarterback. In August, starting quarterback C.J. Brown suffered a torn ACL and was replaced by Perry Hills. Just last week, Hills suffered his own ACL tear and was replaced by Devin Burns. Then on Thursday, it was announced that Burns suffered a foot injury that would keep him out for the year.
