Giants selected Syracuse DT Jay Bromley with the No. 74 overall pick in the 2014 NFL draft.
Bromley (6-foot-3 1/8, 306) reported to February's Combine 26 pounds heavier than his college listing of 280, helping his stock. A three-year starter, Bromley tallied 25.5 career tackles for loss and 14 sacks, including ten as a senior with three forced fumbles. As Bromley just turned 22, he's still growing into his body. An athletic interior penetrator, Bromley is a "three-technique" prospect with 5.06 speed and a 33 1/2-inch vertical. He also played some at end at Syracuse. He'll be a rotational player as a rookie. NFL.com's Gil Brandt projects Syracuse DT Jason Bromley as a fifth- to sixth-round pick.

"Bromley is a very good athlete who moves around really well, but does have a tendancy to play a bit too upright," Brandt wrote. Bromley (6-foot-3 3/8, 307 pounds) ran forties of 4.97 and 4.98 seconds at Wednesday's pro day. He added a three-cone drill of 7.88 seconds before standing on the rest of his combine numbers. Bromley has NFL size and displayed good scheme versatility in college as a defensive lineman that could play inside or out.

Syracuse head coach Doug Marrone called the potential loss of sophomore DT Jay Bromley "a devastating blow."

The injury is apparently of the lower body variety and took place in practice on Tuesday, although no details were given. "We’re working to get him back this week. I don’t want to say he’s definitely out," Marrone said. Marrone notes that although Bromley's name does not appear in the stat sheet often, his presence is felt on every snap.
