Texans selected Bowling Green DT Chris Jones with the No. 198 overall pick.
Jones (6-foot-1 5/8, 302) was the 2012 MAC Defensive Player of the Year, finishing his senior season third in the nation in sacks (12.5) and seventh in tackles for loss (19.0). He forced six career fumbles. Built like a bowling ball with a stocky frame and short arms (32 3/4"), Jones wins with leverage and a relentless play style. He's a bit of a misfit for Houston's 3-4 on paper, but could help in sub-packages. The Texans love to play dime under Wade Phillips, and shoot gaps with multiple interior pass rushers. Scouts Inc.'s Steve Muench considers Bowling Green senior DT Chris Jones an "interesting sleeper."

Muench concedes that Jones "doesn't have great size but tough quick and aggressive" and the senior "has a great motor." The Falcon was highly productive in his final season and projects as a nickel interior pass rusher, like Karl Klug.

Bowling Green senior DT Chris Jones added another 2.5 sacks Saturday against Eastern Michigan, making his total for the season raise to 11.5.

From a statistical perspective, Jones may be the most consistent interior pass rusher in the nation. The senior's motor never stops, and although many of his sacks aren't highlight worthy, Jones continues to chase and fight until the quarterback is on the ground.
