Alabama senior WR Christion Jones has hurt his stock as a return specialist as he continues to struggle, according to CBS Sports' Rob Rang.
"Alabama's Christion Jones' struggles justify being listed here. The preseason All-American return specialist fumbled again Saturday in a 14-13 squeaker over Arkansas," Rang wrote. The 5-foot-11, 185-pound Jones was replaced during the Arkansas game after muffing the first punt of the game. In the last two games, Jones has lost two fumbles for the Crimson Tide, and has averaged only 4.6 yards on eight punt returns. On the season, the wideout has only recorded 11 catches and "hasn't developed into a productive receiver for the Tide in part due to unreliable hands," according to Rang. Oct 14 - 4:10 PM

Alabama senior WR Christion Jones is in danger of going undrafted due to his struggles holding onto the ball as a returner, wrote TFY Draft Insider's Tony Pauline.

"Stamped as a last round pick, Jones was graded as much for his return skills as his receiving ability," Pauline wrote. "The former has not worked out well and fumbles forced Jones to the bench on punt returns last weekend." Jones has made only 11 receptions this season. Worse than that, he's averaging merely 4.6 yards across eight punt returns.

Alabama junior WR Christion Jones lifted the Crimson Tide over Virginia Tech with two return TDs.

Jones returned two kickoffs for 109 yards and four punt returns for 100 yards. In fact, Alabama only totaled 206 total yards of offense, and the inexperienced line struggled to protect A.J. McCarron. Jones was also the school's leading receiver, taking two receptions for 47 yards and another touchdown.

Despite a few muffed attempts, Alabama sophomore WR Christion Jones will remain the team's primary punt returner.

Jones fumbled two returns last weekend against Western Carolina, losing one. If he continues to struggle, expect freshman Cyrus Jones to receive more attempts.
