Virgiana Tech CB Antone Exum revealed that the knee injury he suffered actually started hurting against Cincinnati.

Exum "had trouble with it at times the rest of the year," beat writer Andy Bitter said. In late January, Exum revealed he tore the ACL and meniscus in his right knee, "So it was probably already weakened."

Virginia Tech junior CB Antone Exum tore the ACL and meniscus in his right knee and is expected to miss six-to-nine months.

Doctors are hoping for surgery this week. Exum is one of the Hokies' top defensive talents and briefly considered entering the 2013 NFL Draft. He may not be at full speed at the start of the season, but expect Exum to tough the field in 2013.

Virginia Tech junior CB has decided to stay in school for the 2013 season rather than enter the NFL Draft.

"I officially will be returning for my senior season with my team!" Exum tweeted. "Working towards ACC and National titles!" He finished the year with five interceptions, 16 pass breakups and two forced fumbles.

Virginia Tech junior CB has petitioned the NFL Draft Advisory Board for an evaluation.

It appears as though Exum only wanted to gauge the NFL's interest. "I'm coming back, as of now," he said. "I'm thinking of the bowl game and stuff like that. I worry about that type of stuff afterward. But I'm coming back."
