Giants selected Notre Dame CB Bennett Jackson with the No. 187 overall pick in the 2014 NFL draft.
Jackson (5-foot-11 7/8, 195) opened his Fighting Irish career as a wideout, kick returner and gunner before converting to cornerback. He was a middling college corner, particularly struggling as a tackler. Jackson clocked 4.51 at the Combine with a 38-inch vertical and 10-foot-8 broad jump, so athleticism is a strength. Jackson ultimately projects as a special teamer only in the NFL. May 10 - 4:14 PM

Scout Inc.'s Kevin Weidl believes Rutgers WR Brandon Coleman "exposed" Notre Dame CB Bennett Jackson's "warts" in the Pin Stripe Bowl tape.

"Bennett really struggled handling Coleman's size downfield," Weidl wrote. Jackson reportedly received a second-day projection from the advisory board prior to last season, but chose to return for his final season. It may have been a poor decision. NFL Media draft analyst and NBC Notre Dame football broadcaster Mike Mayock recently projected him as a fifth-round pick. Jackson's length will intrigue a team looking to bolster its secondary depth.

NFL Media draft analyst and NBC Notre Dame football broadcaster Mike Mayock projected Notre Dame CB Bennett Jackson to go somewhere around the fifth round.

"I see Bennett Jackson as a corner with some length," Mayock said. "He's gotta get stronger. He's got some pretty good movement skills but he's not an elite speed guy so he's gotta use his length to compete on the outside." Jackson reportedly received a second-day projection from the advisory board prior to last season, but chose to return for his final season. We agree that Jackson should slot somewhere on the draft's third day; his length will intrigue a team looking to bolster its secondary depth.

Notre Dame senior CB Bennett Jackson has accepted an invitation to attend the East-West Shrine Game.

Jackson reportedly received a second day projection during the draft process last year form the advisory board, but chose to return for his final season. After a shoulder surgery it is unclear where Jackson's evaluation sits, but teams have plenty of tape on the defensive back, since he has played in every game during his time at Notre Dame.

Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly announced junior CB Bennett Jackson will miss spring activities after undergoing shoulder surgery.

The soon to be senior was one of the Irish's best secondary players in 2012 and should keep his starting spot despite his absence. Along with a solid tackle number, Jackson added four interceptions and a forced fumble.

Notre Dame junior CB Bennett Jackson apparently received a second- or third-round projection from the NFL Draft Advisory Board.

Eric Hansen of the South Bend Tribune stated that Jackson, "had a tough decision to make this past month about whether to cash in a dream season for a second- or third-round call in April's NFL Draft." At one point, Jackson was an unknown commodity, even as recently as this past offseason, but the NFL must have been impressed with what they saw.
