Jaguars selected South Carolina WR Ace Sanders with the No. 101 overall pick.
Sanders (5-foot-7, 173) caught 45 passes for 531 yards (11.8 YPR) and nine touchdowns as a junior before surprisingly entering the draft. He also scored three career punt return TDs. With great hands but pedestrian 4.58 speed, Sanders is another Dexter McCluster type lacking physicality, size, and ideal long speed. His early-career impact figures to come on special teams. In Jacksonville, Sanders could compete for slot duties. Sat, Apr 27, 2013 12:23:00 PM

CBS Sports' Dane Brugler knows one team who has a third-round grade on South Carolina WR Ace Sanders.

Sanders does his best work in space, using short area quickness to evade oncoming tacklers and make people miss. He isn't Tavon Austin, possibly due to the lack of straight-line speed, but a team could target Sanders a few rounds later if they miss out on the shifty slot receiver from West Virginia.

One GM told the NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah that South Carolina WR Ace Sanders is a poor man's version of West Virginia WR Tavon Austin.

"That GM didn't view Sanders as a first- or second-round pick; he should be targeted by several teams in the middle rounds," Jeremiah writes. "His return ability is mentioned as an added bonus." Sanders was a bit of a surprise addition to the class, but made a handful of big plays for the Gamecocks this season.

South Carolina WR Ace Sanders announced on his Twitter account late Tuesday that he will forgo his senior season and enter the 2013 NFL Draft.

Sanders announced on January 8 that he would return, but had a last-minute change of heart and is the 75th underclassman to declare for April's draft. Sanders, listed at 5-foot-8, 175, caught 45 passes for 531 yards and nine touchdowns as a junior. More impressively, he averaged 14.8 yards per punt return, bringing back two to the house. The return value might garner Sanders some looks on the second day of the draft, but he's more likely to be a fourth- or fifth-rounder.

South Carolina junior WR Ace Sanders announced he will return for the 2013 season.

Sanders put on a great bow performance and is an electric runner due to his long speed, but the junior could improve his evaluation even more in 2013. Tavon Austin is better in the open field, but Sanders offers similar size, so that may be a barometer for the Gamecocks' potential draft status.

South Carolina junior WR Ace Sanders caught nine passes for 92 yards and two touchdowns against Michigan.

Sanders was electric in the open field and added four total returns for 82 yards. The junior isn't often mentioned among draft-eligible prospects, but Sanders can really move and even won vertically.
