Stanford senior TE/FB Ryan Hewitt "has value as a late-round pick," according to NFL.com's Daniel Jeremiah.
Hewitt caught only two passes for 15 yards in Thursday's upset over Oregon, but Jeremiah notes that he "had a great game as a lead blocker and he's a reliable pass catcher out of the backfield." Hewitt, who played alongside Zach Ertz and Levine Toilolo for the past few seasons, offers supreme versatility as a runner, receiver and blocker capable of lining up anywhere. "His ability to play both tight end and fullback is a huge asset to NFL teams. His versatility saves a roster spot," writes Jeremiah. Fri, Nov 8, 2013 06:43:00 PM

Stanford senior TE/FB Ryan Hewitt is reportedly back to full strength after suffering a bruised knee prior to the season.

"He feels great for the first time in a month," head coach David Shaw said. Hewitt played alongside Zach Ertz and Levine Toilolo for the past few seasons and is a jack of all trades type offensive prospect. In his absence, two Stanford tight ends have combined for two receptions for nine yards.

Stanford junior FB Ryan Hewitt is expected to move to TE to fill in for the departed Zach Ertz and Levine Toilolo.

Hewitt was recruited as a tight end, and played the position in three end sets, but has mainly lined up at fullback during his time at Stanford. He's not as big as Ertz or Toilolo, but Hewitt offers draftable traits and could be in for a solid 2013.
