Bears signed Florida State LB Christian Jones.
Jones (6-foot-3 1/8, 240) was a versatile piece in FSU's defense, seeing action at both Sam and Will, inside 'backer, edge rusher, and on special teams. He primarily rushed the passer as a senior, recording eight tackles for loss, two sacks, and an interception en route to second-team All-ACC accolades. Jones' length (33 1/2" arms) and above-average athleticism (4.74 forty, 33 1/2" vertical) give him a chance to be an eventual sub-package asset, and he is an efficient enough tackler to contribute on first and second down early on. Ideally, he would become an Akeem Ayers-type player. Jones slipped out of the draft because of a reported failed drug test at Febuary's Scouting Combine but has all the talent to develop into a starter for the Bears. May 11 - 3:22 PM
