Rams selected Miami (FL) CB Brandon McGee with the No. 149 overall pick.
McGee (5-11, 193) started 25 games for the 'Canes, notching three career picks and 6.5 tackles for loss. He boosted his draft stock with a 4.4-flat 40-yard dash at the Combine, though he registered a more pedestrian 33.5-inch vertical. McGee is an inconsistent player on film, but has adequate size, obvious straight-line speed and fluid hips. He'll season on special teams before getting a chance in the Rams' crowded secondary. Miami CB Brandon McGee worked out for the Bears a few weeks ago.

McGee is in that third tier of cornerbacks, but he is drawing plenty of interest throughout the pre-draft process. The Hurricane product fits the Miami football stereotype type in terms of athletic ability and had a good showing at the East-West Shrine game. We think he could be selected in the third-round.

The Chicago Bears privately worked out Miami (FL) CB Brandon McGee.

McGee could be a fit in the slot after nickel corner D.J. Moore signed with the Carolina Panthers. "Absolutely, (I can see myself being an NFL nickelback)," McGee said. "Going into the NFL you have to be open to that because it only adds to your value. Playing nickelback demands a lot more thinking. The successful nickelbacks are the smart ones. It's not easy playing inside. For example, Charles Woodson was one of the greatest when the Green Bay Packers used to line him up inside over the slot. That's the kind of guy I would try to model my game after."

Patriots head coach Bill Belichick was seen attending Miami's Pro Day workouts.

If we are remembering correctly, Belichick always attends Florida pro days, but he will likely be focusing on cornerback Brandon McGee. The Hurricane product has the athletic tools but has failed to consistently put them together throughout his career.

"Several teams" reportedly have Miami CB Brandon McGee graded in the third- to fourth-round area for the 2013 NFL Draft.

Per NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah, McGee has impressed "all week long" at the East-West Shrine with quick feet and fluid hips. He's also "made several plays on the ball" and has been "the top cornerback" in St. Pete "by a good margin." McGee, listed at 6-foot, 197, intercepted three passes as a 24-game starter over the course of his junior and senior seasons. He had four tackles for loss in 2012.
