Bears selected Georgia DE Cornelius Washington with the No. 188 overall pick.
Washington (6-foot-4, 265) played out of position as a five-technique end in Georgia's 3-4 as a senior, which helped limit him to just 22 tackles -- three for a loss -- and a paltry half-sack across 14 games. He played linebacker in 2011 and posted five sacks. Washington has 34-inch arms and shredded the Combine with a 4.55 forty, 1.60 ten-yard split, 36 bench-press reps and a 39-inch vertical. Washington is a bit of a project, but offers big upside if his talent is harnessed. The Bears are loving test freaks in this draft. Sat, Apr 27, 2013 04:44:00 PM

Draft insider Tony Pauline has been told that the Jets are "very high on" Georgia pass rusher Cornelius Washington.

Pauline suggests Washington as a fit if the Jets are still in need of a pass rusher on the second day. The Georgia product was criminally misused in 2012, lining up as a 5 technique end in a three man front, when his best spot is rushing from a 9 or 7 alignment.

Pro Football Talk reports Georgia DE Cornelius Washington will visit the Atlanta Falcons and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

PFT adds that Washington has had five workouts since his pro day, which is interesting to say the least. Washington is a rising draft prospect and has spent time as a pass rushing outside linebacker and defensive end in Georgia's 3-4 defense. The versatility will appeal to teams, especially the Falcons, who have become a multiple defense under coordinator Mike Nolan.
